Lastly, I want to send a huge shout-out to whomever ordered a Samsung Galaxy Note II 4G Android Phone, Titanium from Amazon.com during the month of January. TruthisTreason.net receives a higher commission on phone purchases, and it netted us $50.00 USD!

Gunfighters, Gear, and Instagram: the IG Militia

Posted on Feb 02, 2013 in Blog, Editorials, & Thoughts, Emergency Preparedness & Survival, Featured Articles, Police, Military, & War, Social Networking

Kevin Hayden – TruthisTreason.net

Instagram is a form of social media that focuses on sharing pictures between users, allowing them to tag photos with names of other users and apply “hashtags” that function as searchable keywords or descriptions for others. It is no longer just a place to post pictures of your food!

One such hashtag that has a rather large following is “igMilitia”. It stands for the InstaGram Militia, and started as a way for various photos of guns, gear, and generally tacti-cool stuff to be lumped together and easily found.

Since I’m always looking for new gear when it comes to firearms, outdoor activities, and training, I thought I would share a list of some of the small businesses and personalities that really seem to have an impact on the shooting community and “igMilitia”, whether it be tactical, law enforcement, military, or purely civilian and self defense.

Many of these you’ve likely never heard of, but I believe in supporting original entrepreneurs and small start-ups, so if you know of any others that should be added to this list, please feel free to leave a comment!...

What If? Hayden’s Coffee Thoughts on Russia, Obama, and Guns Thumbnail

What If? Hayden’s Coffee Thoughts on Russia, Obama, and Guns

Posted on Jan 23, 2013 in Blog, Editorials, & Thoughts

Kevin Hayden – TruthisTreason.net

I’ve been doing some thinking; some exercises in mental creativity, if you will, about the current craze surrounding gun confiscation and assault rifles and I want you to join in on this little walk down Crazy Road with me.

What if…

What if President Obama or members of the Federal Government have information to suggest that Russia or China are aligning themselves to engage in a full-blown World War 3?

What if a handful of our elected leaders knew that something catastrophic was coming down the pipeline and are unable to declare it publicly due to the inevitable, ensuing chaos and panic that it would create?

What if those Powers That Be were using reverse psychology, screaming “gun ban! gun confiscation!”, in an effort to get Americans to buy even more firearms and specifically, those illustrious, evil “assault weapons”?

What if …?

What if these globalist, money-hungry, power grabbers are actually trying to get us to arm ourselves in a fashion that no economic stimulus ever could?

What if the reason they have purchased a historical 1.6 billion+ rounds of jacketed hollow point .40 caliber rounds is to arm our domestic law enforcement against this coming catastrophe or invasion?...

Former SEAL: Dear Mr. Security Agent

Posted on Jan 23, 2013 in Blog, Editorials, & Thoughts, Constitutional & Liberty Issues, Police, Military, & War

Kevin Hayden – TruthisTreason.net

Excerpt from Matt Bracken’s Open Letter to Law Enforcement with Hayden’s Note at the end;

The unintended consequences of this misguided utopian fool’s crusade to ban guns would include a second civil war as agonizingly painful as the first one, if not more so, since there would be no front lines and no safe areas for anybody, anywhere. Every sane American wants to prevent such a calamitous outcome as a “dirty civil war” on United States soil.

But know this: those tens of millions will never be quietly disarmed and then later forced at government gunpoint onto history’s next boxcars. If boxcars and detention camps are to be in America’s future, then you, Mr. Security Agent, will have to disarm them the hard way first. Not Piers Morgan, not Dianne Feinstein, not Chuck Schumer.

You.

And so, if you find yourself silently dismounting a covert SWAT vehicle at zero-dark-thirty, dressed in body armor, counting down to the explosion of battering rams and flash-bang grenades, on a raid against a sleeping household intended to result in the confiscation of firearms, ammunition, or magazines that were legal to own in 2012, millions of Americans who also swore an oath to defend the Constitution will consider you their domestic enemy, and they will resist you with force of arms....

Buying Gold and Silver with JM Bullion Thumbnail

Buying Gold and Silver with JM Bullion

Kevin Hayden – TruthisTreason.net

Every so often, I receive an email asking me to recommend a reputable precious metals dealer or why I invest in gold and silver.  I’ve talked at length on the topic of securing metals as a long-term investment, or tangible good; not only for times of disaster, but to simply preserve your wealth.  As we have all plainly witnessed, the Federal Reserve has been on a printing binge for several years now, and with each new round of Quantitative Easing that is dished out, your hard earned dollar is worth less and less.

From my standpoint, tangibles endure the test of time far better than a fiat paper currency such as the US Dollar.  A fiat currency has value only because of government fiat - or declaration.   And since it is tied to the whims of governing politicians and bankers, it risks inflation, meaning that you will need to shell out more and more dollar bills for the same old product year after year.  Look to the price of food, as an example.  Prices inflate because the dollar is losing it’s fiat value – the Federal Reserve is stretching it too thin by creating more money and putting it into circulation....

Hayden’s Note: Former New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin Indicted on 21 Federal Corruption Charges

Ray Nagin, former New Orleans mayor and the public face of the battered city in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, has been indicted by a grand jury on 21 federal corruption charges.

Hayden’s Note:

Let’s just file this under, “….duh!”  There are a slew of New Orleans government officials and police officers who should face a grand jury inquiry.  It was only a matter of time until Mayor Ray Nagin was caught.  But, for those of you who don’t live in New Orleans, or don’t understand the depth of the corruption and depravity down there, this is par for the course.  This comes as no surprise to anyone who understands how NOLA operates, which is saddening, because there is no other place quite like it.  New Orleans is an amazing, magical place in so many ways, but the mindset, and the “way we do things” down there distorts it into a large-scale ghetto, full of the worst that mankind can offer one another.  I will always consider it my former home, but there truly is no way to turn it into the place it should and could be.

Guns, Obama, and Executive Orders: Are We Being Distracted?

Kevin Hayden – TruthisTreason.net

As you comb through the various executive orders and memorandums that Obama signed into action today, I would like you to take note of the bland nature of this “tough crackdown” on gun violence. I think it goes without saying that anyone, on either side of this “debate”, agree that criminals and those with serious-ill intent should not be in possession of a weapon or item that can cause mass casualties. That’s a no-brainer, and re-iterating it merely pays lip-service to the dumbed-down masses.  Items such as nominating an ATF Director, sponsoring a responsible gun ownership campaign, or helping to develop emergency plans for schools and houses of worship are all great ideas, if not extremely archaic and fundamental in nature.

These are actions that should not be receiving national airtime. Now, the argument as to whether the government should be spending money to educate private companies in contingency plans, or offering financial incentives for various actions is an entirely different, economic and Constitutional conversation – one that we can have, if you would like, but let’s stay on track in regards to the whole “firearms distraction.”

While there are some disturbing orders contained within this executive action, such as emphasizing medical doctor’s roles in likely creating a “no-buy” list based upon information gleaned from medical care, and aside from the strong urging for another gun and magazine ban, I am truly curious as to what else is happening in the background that we are being led away from....

Ben Swann’s Reality Check, Full Disclosure: Re-inventing Journalism Through Integrity

Kevin Hayden – TruthisTreason.net

Ben Swann, of Cincinnati affiliate FOX 19‘s Reality Check, and his new web series, Full Disclosure, takes a hard look at both sides of some of the most heated debates and stories in the news.  Unlike many anchors and journalists, Swann earns his keep by providing a no-nonsense approach to difficult topics while asking hard, but fair questions.  His viewership and fanbase continue to swell due to his honesty, professionalism, and due diligence.  Isn’t that what journalism used to be about?

Take a look at the recent Reality Check from Ben Swann, where he tackles the hotly contested gun debate:

With both an Edward R. Murrow Award and two Emmy’s on his mantel, Ben has proven himself both on the desk and in the field. He has specialized in covering Mexico’s drug wars on the Texas border as a news anchor for KTSM-TV, the NBC affiliate in El Paso, Texas, and delivered some hard-hitting investigative pieces during his career in the Lonestar state....

YouTube’s Popular Gun Channel ‘FPS Russia’ Producer Found Murdered

Posted on Jan 09, 2013 in Blog, Editorials, & Thoughts, Global & National News, Social Networking

Kevin Hayden – TruthisTreason.net

Earlier this week, Keith Ratliff, the producer of the highly popular YouTube channel FPS Russia, was found murdered and dumped on a rural back road. Ratliff worked mostly behind the scenes of the show, which was dedicated to showcasing exotic and high-power firearms.  The show’s main character, Dmitri Potapoff, is played by Ratliff’s associate, Kyle Myers, who speaks in a rather unconvincing, yet amusing, Russian accent.

fpsrussiaratliffInitially, authorities in Georgia stated that Ratliff was found tied to a chair with a single gun shot wound to the back of the head and that multiple weapons were found in the same room.  The latest information to be released, based on a local radio station report, states that his body was found on a rural road with weapons nearby, raising speculation that this was in fact a targeted murder.

‘For him not to pull out that gun and try to defend himself, he had to feel comfortable around somebody. Either that or he was ambushed,’ said Ratliff’s heartbroken widow, Amanda.

FPS Russia commands nearly 3.5 million YouTube subscribers, has over five-hundred million video views, and is listed as one of YouTube’s Top Ten most popular channels, raking in an estimated $45,000 – $137,000 in Google ad revenue since its inception in mid-2010....

Hayden’s Note: My Birthday, Website Statistics, and 2013

Kevin Hayden – TruthisTreason.net

Well, it’s that time of the year again; my birthday.  I’m not sure how I feel about it this year.  Things have gone quite well since the last one, I must admit.  While uncertainly and chaos rule the news, I’ve fought to keep myself centered and balanced throughout 2012 and am looking forward to a fruitful 2013!

30birthdaycakeSome of the year’s highlights were getting married, being able to travel quite a bit (mostly for work, but I’ll take what I can get!), and building several new friendships that I deeply cherish.  While TruthisTreason.net experienced an all-time visitor record during 2012, traffic certainly slowed during the last quarter.  I plan to change that by getting back to writing more original content again, along with new articles about the Elysian Fields Project!

And for those of you wondering, my birthday is January 7th, and please, don’t send any gifts. I urge you not to. Whatever you do, do not send digital gift cards to contact@TruthisTreason.net ! Don’t do it!

Hayden’s Note on the Connecticut Shootings, Dead Babies, and US Foreign Policy

Posted on Dec 14, 2012 in Blog, Editorials, & Thoughts, Constitutional & Liberty Issues, Featured Articles, Global & National News, Police, Military, & War, Political Issues

Kevin Hayden – TruthisTreason.net

I was approached by a reader of the website last night who lamented on my lack of personal commentary lately.  He added that he had hoped to hear my opinions regarding the Presidential election and other current events, but that TruthisTreason.net had completely ignored politics recently.  I had to agree; I have intentionally avoided the typical political commentary because, quite frankly, I’m moved beyond that for the most part.  For years, I waved my signs, took part in street actions to raise awareness, wrote articles, and took part in the election cycle as a state delegate.

These days, I’ve simply let go of the stranglehold that politics has on so many Americans. It no longer concerns me because I feel as though we are too far gone to ever get back on track, and so aside from the occasional piece on national events, I doubt you’ll see “in-depth” coverage on the Left vs. Right Paradigm; the stage show known as American politics.

However,

In wake of today’s shooting events, I wanted to take a moment to share some opinions and perspectives on not only the direct topic, but the bigger picture, as well....

Collection of Tiny Homes, Off-Grid Cabins, and Shipping Container Houses

Posted on Dec 14, 2012 in Alternative Energy & Architecture, Blog, Editorials, & Thoughts, Featured Articles, Urban Gardening, Farming & Homesteading

Kevin Hayden – TruthisTreason.net

One of my biggest passions is alternative architecture and radical self-reliance.  I try to showcase it regularly here on TruthisTreason.net, but it’s been awhile since I have posted a good collection of projects.  So, without further ado, here are a few abodes that have caught my eye recently!

Bootjack Cabin

The story of a young couple building a modern cabin off the grid in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.

We are Caleb and Marci Larsen. We met in art school and got married in 2003. In the past eight years we’ve lived in Kalamazoo, MI, Portland, ME, Seattle, WA, Providence, RI, Tulum, Mexico, Hancock, MI, and now, Calumet, MI. This nomadic lifestyle has mostly been for fun, to experience different cities and parts of the world.

We’ve decided to build a cabin (‘camp’ in local parlance) and will be blogging about the experience. From our inspirations, plans, triumphs, to our failures, frustrations, and utter devastations – this is our return to Bootjack.

Read about their adventures here -> Bootjack Cabin

Orcas Island Cabin

Design by Vandervort Architects

Hayden’s Note:

I couldn’t find much information regarding this particular cabin, other than basic dimensions and such from Vandervort Architects....
