Charlottesville, Va., has become the first city in the United States to formally pass an anti-drone resolution.

The resolution passed by a 3-2 vote and was brought to the city council by activist David Swanson and the Rutherford Institute, a civil liberties group based in the city. The measure also endorses a proposed two-year moratorium on drones in Virginia.

Councilmember Dede Smith, who voted in favor of the bill, says that drones are “pretty clearly a threat to our constitutional right to privacy.”

“If we don’t get out ahead of it to establish some guidelines for how drones are used, they will be used in a very invasive way and we’ll be left to try and pick up the pieces,” she says.

“With a lot of these resolutions, although they don’t have a lot of teeth to them, they can inspire other governments to pass similar measures,” she says. “You can get a critical mass and then it does have influence. One doesn’t do much, but a thousand of them might. We want this on [federal and state lawmakers’] radars.”

[Video] Police Shoot Man 3 Times Immediately Upon Entering House: Hayden’s Note & the Failed War on Drugs

A joint drug task force from Weber and Morgan county, Utah, executed a search warrant on Todd Blair’s house on September 16th, 2010, resulting in the shooting death of Blair only two seconds after entry was made.

The “Weber-Morgan Strike Force” initiated an investigation into Blair’s residence with a focus on his roommate, Melanie Chournos. Police stated in their application for warrant that Ms. Chournos would likely destroy evidence upon their arrival, and requested a night time, “no-knock warrant” for the squirrely female.  However, prior to the raid, law enforcement became aware of the fact Blair’s roommate had moved out of the house.  With warrant already in hand, or rather, still back at the police station, the Strike Force decided to conduct the night time raid anyway.

Friends and family of Mr. Blair plainly admit to his drug usage, but said he was a drug addict and not a drug dealer.

After the SWAT team hit the door three times in an attempt to open it, and as the video clearly shows, Mr. Blair appears in a far hallway, shirtless, and with a golf club in his hands....

Sheriff Says 911 Isn’t Best Option; Safety No Longer a Spectator Sport, “I Need You in the Game”

Posted on Jan 29, 2013 in Constitutional & Liberty Issues, Emergency Preparedness & Survival, Police, Military, & War

Milwaukee area Sheriff David Clarke released a public service announcement urging citizens to seek firearm training and fight back against the criminal elements that seek to do them harm.

In the PSA, Sheriff Clarke cites recent police cutbacks and layoffs, along with mentioning prolonged police arrival times and that calling 911 might not be in your best interest initially.  Sheriff Clarke encourages his constituents to “be prepared”, and candidly states that their safety is no longer a spectator sport; he needs them in the game alongside his deputies.

“…your safety — it’s no longer a spectator sport; I need you in the game.”

He goes on to offer three choices for would-be victims: beg for mercy from violent criminals, hide under the bed, or fight back!

“It’s your duty to protect yourself and your family,” he says. “We’re partners now. Can I count on you?”

Sheriff Clarke has been receiving an onslaught of complaints and calls for his resignation from various groups, along with the President of the Deputy Sheriff’s Association, Roy Felber, suggesting the public service announcement is more closely aligned to a call for vigilantism....

Hayden’s Note: Military Helicopters Terrorize Houston, “Warzone” – The New Normal

The sight of Army helicopters and the sound of gunfire created a lot of concern Monday afternoon in one Houston neighborhood.

With military helicopters flying above her southeast Houston neighborhood, Frances Jerrals didn’t know what to think.

“…it sounds like we’re in a war zone. Guns, shooting, helicopters flying around the house,'” Isaac Robertson Jr. said.

The U.S. Army, along with other agencies, took over the old Carnegie Vanguard High School near Scott and Airport. There were armed men in fatigues, plenty of weapons and what many thought were real live rounds.

“I felt like I was in a warzone.” Jerrals said. “It was nonstop. I was terrified.”

“If it’s to protect our kids, I’m all for it,” neighbor Glenn DeWitt said.

Hayden’s Note:

THIS is the problem. Fear mongering, complacency, and a sheeple mentality: handing over all critical thinking skills and effort to the government will come with a heavy price. Mr. Glenn DeWitt believes that the US military is training to protect our school children.

Utility Workers and Police Trespass to Install Smart Meter, Arrest Home Owner [Video]

Kevin Hayden – TruthisTreason.net

Naperville, IL, resident Malia “Kim” Bendis and her neighbor were arrested on eavesdropping and resisting an officer charges after video recording two police officers and utility workers installing a “smart meter” – which have been linked to health issues – on her neighbor’s house.  The home owner, identified only as Laura, is clearly seen on video refusing consent for the utility workers and police to be on her property, along with expressing concerns for her child’s health and safety, but is threatened with arrest if she interferes.

What happened to 4th Amendment requirements? What happened to private property laws?

Why are the police masquerading as enforcing City Hall requirements when in reality, they are protecting a private company?

Illinois citizens are still being arrested for recording police officers despite a 7th Circuit Court of Appeals ruling last year that blocked the enforcement of the law on the grounds that it was unconstitutional.

The law, which made it a felony to record them, even while acting in their official role as a public servant – in public, where no expectation of privacy is considered – is highly illogical, especially in this particular case.  ...

Worried about draconian Internet laws? Creeping surveillance? The Internet is still a tool of tremendous power, but a deep rot has set in. We have caught it early and we are fighting to stop this rot, but there are other options we can begin exploring to hedge our bets and enhance our current efforts.

piratebox2Image: The PirateBox in use on a handheld device. Once the PirateBox is up and running, either on a standalone device like the one pictured to the right (background), or on your laptop as described here, it will appear as another WiFi network for people in range to connect to. Once connected, files can be freely shared, and there is even a chat client users can communicate with. It is just as useful as a file server for a small business, as it is for circumventing the draconian criminalization of Internet file sharing.

Former SEAL: Dear Mr. Security Agent

Posted on Jan 23, 2013 in Blog, Editorials, & Thoughts, Constitutional & Liberty Issues, Police, Military, & War

Kevin Hayden – TruthisTreason.net

Excerpt from Matt Bracken’s Open Letter to Law Enforcement with Hayden’s Note at the end;

The unintended consequences of this misguided utopian fool’s crusade to ban guns would include a second civil war as agonizingly painful as the first one, if not more so, since there would be no front lines and no safe areas for anybody, anywhere. Every sane American wants to prevent such a calamitous outcome as a “dirty civil war” on United States soil.

But know this: those tens of millions will never be quietly disarmed and then later forced at government gunpoint onto history’s next boxcars. If boxcars and detention camps are to be in America’s future, then you, Mr. Security Agent, will have to disarm them the hard way first. Not Piers Morgan, not Dianne Feinstein, not Chuck Schumer.

You.

And so, if you find yourself silently dismounting a covert SWAT vehicle at zero-dark-thirty, dressed in body armor, counting down to the explosion of battering rams and flash-bang grenades, on a raid against a sleeping household intended to result in the confiscation of firearms, ammunition, or magazines that were legal to own in 2012, millions of Americans who also swore an oath to defend the Constitution will consider you their domestic enemy, and they will resist you with force of arms....

Senator Asks CIA Nominee When Drones Can Kill Americans; Can They Surrender?

The man in charge of America’s drone wars will face Senate questioning about perhaps their most controversial aspect: when the president can target American citizens for death.

Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) sent a letter on Monday to John Brennan, the White House’s counterterrorism adviser and nominee to be head of the CIA, asking for an outline of the legal and practical rules that underpin the U.S. government’s targeted killing of American citizens suspected of working with al-Qaida. The Obama administration has repeatedly resisted disclosing any such information about its so-called “disposition matrix” targeting terrorists, especially where it concerns possible American targets. Brennan reportedly oversees that matrix from his White House perch, and would be responsible for its execution at CIA director.

“How much evidence does the President need to determine that a particular American can be lawfully killed?” Wyden, a member of the Senate intelligence committee, asks in the letter, acquired by Danger Room. “Does the President have to provide individual Americans with the opportunity to surrender before killing them?”

Guns, Obama, and Executive Orders: Are We Being Distracted?

Posted on Jan 16, 2013 in Blog, Editorials, & Thoughts, Constitutional & Liberty Issues, Health, Food News, & Big Pharma, Political Issues

Kevin Hayden – TruthisTreason.net

As you comb through the various executive orders and memorandums that Obama signed into action today, I would like you to take note of the bland nature of this “tough crackdown” on gun violence. I think it goes without saying that anyone, on either side of this “debate”, agree that criminals and those with serious-ill intent should not be in possession of a weapon or item that can cause mass casualties. That’s a no-brainer, and re-iterating it merely pays lip-service to the dumbed-down masses.  Items such as nominating an ATF Director, sponsoring a responsible gun ownership campaign, or helping to develop emergency plans for schools and houses of worship are all great ideas, if not extremely archaic and fundamental in nature.

These are actions that should not be receiving national airtime. Now, the argument as to whether the government should be spending money to educate private companies in contingency plans, or offering financial incentives for various actions is an entirely different, economic and Constitutional conversation – one that we can have, if you would like, but let’s stay on track in regards to the whole “firearms distraction.”

While there are some disturbing orders contained within this executive action, such as emphasizing medical doctor’s roles in likely creating a “no-buy” list based upon information gleaned from medical care, and aside from the strong urging for another gun and magazine ban, I am truly curious as to what else is happening in the background that we are being led away from....

What just a few months ago was dismissed as a pipe dream or wishful thinking has today become a reality that will no doubt take the gun debate, not just nationally but worldwide, to a whole new level.

Infowars.com has been reporting on this 3D printing innovator’s amazing work over the last few months. As Infowars breaks this story online, we wonder if the dinosaur press will realize the incredible significance of this – this technological development will circumvent unconstitutional magazine bans and could end the huge shortages we’re seeing. The future is now.

Texas Judge Rules Schools Can Force RFID Chips on Students or Face Suspension

In the fall of last year the San Antonio Northside School District in Texas announced that they would track students with RFID (radio frequency identification) chips in their student badges.

One student, sophomore Andrea Hernandez, was suspended for refusing to wear the tracking device and took the matter to court.

On Tuesday, U.S. District Judge Orlando Garcia ruled in favor of the school district claiming they have the right to expel Hernandez for refusing to abide by school requirements. By default the judge ruled that the school had the right to force children to be treated like cattle while on campus.

The program, called the “Student Locator Project,” is aimed at increasing student attendance rates presumably to boost in public funding for the district.

“There is something fundamentally disturbing about this school district’s insistence on steamrolling students into complying with programs that have nothing whatsoever to do with academic priorities and everything to do with fattening school coffers,” said John Whitehead of the Rutherford Institute when he took the case.

As part of the pilot program, roughly 4,200 students at Jay High School and Jones Middle School are being required to wear “SmartID” card badges embedded with an RFID tracking chip which will make it possible for school officials to track students’ whereabouts on campus at all times.

Reports are popping up all over the internet regarding a Homeland Security/TSA VIPR Team at the December 30th, 2012 Vikings vs. Packers football game.  Furthermore, additional photos are claiming a surveillance drone was deployed at the Metrodome plaza on the west side.

What are VIPR Teams, you ask?  Unlike the warm, fuzzy blue-shirts at the airport, these guys want to grope you on the bus, search your vehicle at an interstate checkpoint while driving home, interrogate you while riding a train, and rummage through your luggage while utilizing “any form of transportation….any location within the United States”, per 6 USC § 1112.

While some might scoff at the idea of a surveillance drone hovering over a football event, or dismiss it as a sports photography drone, I urge you to consider the overall situation. Furthermore, drone aside; having a VIPR team at a random NFL event should send chills up your spine.

Barter Economy: 50g Gold and Silver CombiBar Can Snap into 1g Micro Bars

Valcambi sa, an international gold refiner and bar manufacturer based in Switzerland, has debuted their new CombiBar, a .999 gold or silver, credit card sized “bar” that can be broken into 1 gram increments for smaller transactions.

combibar5

For those who invest in precious metals as a form of barter or alternative currency, the traditionally higher premiums on small gold bars are cost-prohibitive to many buyers, making silver much more attractive due to its lower cost per ounce and ease of use in transactions.

Gold is typically reserved for larger purchases or as a store of wealth, until now.  The CombiBar allows an investor to purchase 50 gram or 100 gram “bars” that can snap apart into individual, smaller “bars” or sheets.  The cards are available in .999 silver, palladium, and platinum!

It should be noted that like all precious metal purchases, there is a premium, and according to my figures, the CombiBar runs approximately 15-25% higher than spot price, depending on what precious metal you purchase.

Typical bullion prices only command a 5-10% premium, so it boils down to, “Are you willing to spend a bit more now for easier use in the future?...
