Agenda 21: The Death Knell of Liberty

Posted on Dec 18, 2009 in Global & National News

An Editorial piece from Jim O’Neil

“The common enemy of humanity is man.  In searching for a new enemy to unite us, we came up with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming, water shortages, famine and the like would fit the bill.  …The real enemy then is humanity itself.
Democracy is no longer well suited for the tasks ahead.” —From the Club of Rome’s “The First Global Revolution” p. 71,75 1993

Therefore, send not to know for whom the bell tolls, It tolls for thee.”—John Donne (1572-1631)

The death knell for freedom has been tolling for some time, and only now are people starting to hear it.  It started tolling faintly, decades back, and has slowly progressed in volume, until today its tolling is impossible to ignore.

The United States of America—that “shining city on a hill”—had a good run of it, and made a gallant effort at establishing liberty for all.  But as the old saw would have it, all good things must come to an end....

20 Senators Demand Probe of Obama’s Base Closure Threat

Posted on Dec 17, 2009 in Global & National News

Source: WND

Twenty senators are demanding an investigation into reports the Obama administration threatened to close Offutt Air Force Base in Nebraska if that state’s Democratic senator, Ben Nelson, didn’t join other Democrats in voting for health-care reform.

The group of 20, all Republicans, today called for a hearing in a letter to Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman Carl Levin, D-Mich., and the committee’s top Republican Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz.

The text of the letter states:

It has been reported that the Obama Administration threatened the closure of a U.S. military installation for political purposes, thereby bringing into question the integrity of the Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) process. The BRAC process was established to remove political influence so that the decision to close or not to close a military installation could be based upon military utility.Specifically, various media reports have stated that the Obama Administration would put Offutt AFB in southeastern Nebraska on a future BRAC list because of a vote on healthcare reform. While we recognize the importance of Offutt AFB as the headquarters of U.S. Strategic Command and the approximately 10,000 individuals that work there, we feel that this installation should remain open or be closed on its own merits.

Iran Condemned by West for Test Firing Rocket – But Russia is Allowed to Fire Blue Swirly, UFO-like Rockets Over Norway

Posted on Dec 16, 2009 in Global & National News

[Hayden’s Note: It’s amazing… Iran is condemned for test-firing a rocket and yet Russia is allowed to fire crazy, blue swirling, UFO-like rockets into the night sky anytime they wish with no reprimand.  The latest series of rocket tests by Russia has created an odd, blue swirl in the sky over Norway and frightening some nearby residents… but do they get international scrutiny?  No.]

Western governments united to denounce Iran’s test-firing of a long-range ballistic missile yesterday, warning that it would only increase international determination to press for more sanctions on Tehran if it refused to negotiate over its nuclear programme.

Gordon Brown led the call for stricter sanctions, calling the missile test a cause for serious concern that drew further into question Iran’s professed peaceful intentions over its nuclear programme.

The United States, France and Germany joined in the condemnation. Germany called the test alarming, and France described it as “a very bad signal to the international community”.

The first test of an improved version of the Sejil-2 missile, which is capable of reaching Israel and US bases in the Gulf, was reported early yesterday in a one-sentence announcement on Iranian state television, accompanied by a clip showing the missile rising from the launch pad in a cloud of smoke....

UN Copenhagen Climate Conference Suspended (yeah!)

Posted on Dec 14, 2009 in Global & National News

Source: InfoWars

Like just about every other big, international conference, from world trade to human rights, it appears the Copenhagen climate summit has ended in a complete fiasco.

BBC: Negotiations at the UN climate summit have been suspended after the African group withdrew co-operation.

African delegations were angry at what they saw as moves by the Danish host government to sideline talks on more emission cuts under the Kyoto Protocol.

As news spread around the conference centre, about 200 activists responded with chants of “We stand with Africa – Kyoto targets now”.

Between the “Climategate” leaks, and another set of leaks about how developed countries planned to screw over developing ones, the whole thing was doomed from the start. And even without those snags, it was all talk.

There’s no way all the countries in the world can come together and unilaterally slow down their economies for something as vague as climate change, potentially a century off. That’s the bottomline....

FBI Informant Hal Turner; Judge Declares Mistrial (Editorial Attached)

Posted on Dec 08, 2009 in Global & National News

Source: New York Times

A judge declared a mistrial Monday in the case against a New Jersey blogger accused of making death threats against three federal judges in Chicago because they wrote a ruling supporting gun control.

[Hayden’s Note: If you haven’t been following this case, here’s a bit of background info –  Hal Turner is a radio host who leans towards the far right and aggressively talks about defending liberties with borderline violence.  His following largely consists of extremists and white supremecists, among others.  On one of his shows, he said something to the effect of certain “judges need to die…” and subsequently, he was arrested and charged for threatening a judge.  The State contended that he would have known his comments would spark violence towards these judges by members of his listening audience, holding him responsible for the pre-crime of violence.  Well, I don’t like Hal Turner and certainly don’t listen to his program, but from a legal standpoint, the State is presenting a very far fetched, weak case.

Furthermore, and most importantly – During this investigation and the wide media coverage, it has been discovered that Hal Turner is an FBI asset and has been for a long time. ...

American’s Belief in Global Warming Starting to Chill; Poll Shows Skepticism

Posted on Dec 07, 2009 in Global & National News

Washington (CNN) — A rise in skepticism among Americans over global warming is mostly due to changes among Republicans, according to new national poll.

[Hayden’s Note: While I am not a fan of CNN… and to be honest, think this is a shoddy article (at best), I have included it on the front page merely to prove a point.  The scam known as ‘Global Warming’ is finally coming to light, albeit slowly.  People are (finally) starting to realize they’ve been played the fool in this hoax.  I won’t say that I know everything, but if the current trends in climate change propaganda continue, we WILL lose freedoms; we WILL pay more for energy; we WILL pay a hefty tax at the gas pumps; we WILL be overburdened with excise taxes, penalties, rationing, etc.  Climate Change is a grandious congame that is handing the reigns of our freedom over to the Global Elites.  As a side note – please do not interpret this editorial note as ‘not caring’ about our planet.  While I don’t buy the global warming scam for one second, I still see the importance and mostly, the benefits of reducing, reusing, and even recycling to an extent. ...

96 Dead, 139 Injured in Moscow Night Club Explosion

Posted on Dec 04, 2009 in Global & National News

Moscow, Russia (CNN) — An explosion late Friday at a nightclub in central Russia killed at least 96 people and injured at least 139 others, the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry said.

However, the precise numbers were not immediately clear — local law enforcement officials in the city of Perm, 900 miles east of Moscow, put the number of dead at 99, according to Interfax.

The preliminary theory behind the blast is “unsanctioned use of pyrotechnical devices,” the ministry said.

“The breach of technology while setting off a firework was the cause of the accident,” said Vladimir Markin, a spokesman for the Investigative Committee of the Russian Prosecutor’s Office. “It was not a terrorist act,” he told Russian news agencies.

Burns and smoke inhalation caused the deaths, Markin said, adding that authorities have opened a criminal investigation.

Russian news media said the blast occurred as a party was in full swing at The Lame Horse nightclub, which was celebrating its eighth year in business.

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev sent a number of high government officials to Perm to handle the consequences of the accident, organize medical assistance to survivors and investigate the event....

Iran Doctor Who Blew Whistle on Torture Was Poisoned to Death

Posted on Dec 02, 2009 in Global & National News

December 02, 2009

(FOX News ….bleh ) — A doctor who exposed the torture of jailed protesters in Iran died of poisoning from an overdose of a blood pressure drug in a salad, prosecutors say. The findings fueled opposition fears that he was killed because of what he knew.

Investigators are still trying to determine whether his death was a suicide or murder, Tehran’s public prosecutor Abbas Dowlatabadi said, according to the state news agency IRNA.

The 26-year-old doctor, Ramin Pourandarjani, died on Nov. 10 in mysterious circumstances — with authorities initially saying he was in a car accident, had a heart attack or committed suicide.

Pourandarjani was a doctor at Kahrizak, a prison on Tehran’s outskirts where hundreds of opposition protesters were taken after being arrested in the crackdown following June’s disputed presidential elections. The facility became so notorious that it was ordered shut down by Iran’s supreme leader as reports of abuse and torture became an embarassment to the clerical rulers and security forces.

Pourandarjani later testified to a parliamentary committee and reportedly told them that one young protester he treated died from heavy torture....

Seattle Cop Killer is Shot & Killed

Posted on Dec 01, 2009 in Global & National News

[Hayden’s Note: See this story regarding Former Arkansas Governor / Presidential Candidate Mike Huckabee and how he pardoned this guy after serving only 11 years of his 95 year sentence and then went on to rape a child and kill 4 police officers.]

Seattle, Washington (CNN) — The suspect in Sunday’s fatal shooting of four police officers was shot and killed early Tuesday in south Seattle after he challenged an officer who approached him, authorities said.

Maurice Clemmons was carrying a weapon taken from one of the dead officers and had suffered a bullet wound to his abdomen in Sunday’s shooting, Pierce County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Ed Troyer said at an early morning news conference.

Clemmons was killed around 2:45 a.m. by a seven-year veteran of the Seattle police force who had noticed a parked stolen car that was unoccupied but running, said Jim Pugil, an assistant Seattle police chief.

The officer approached Clemmons outside the car and asked him to show his hands, but the suspect refused and started to run around the car, Pugil said.

The police officer, who recognized Clemmons from photographs, then shot and killed him, the assistant chief said.  ...

Huckabee Pardons Felon who then Rapes Child & Kills 4 Police Officers

Posted on Nov 30, 2009 in Global & National News

[Hayden’s Note: In case you don’t read this entire story – please at least read this; “Clemmons was given a 95-year prison sentence in Arkansas in 1989 for a host of charges, including robberies, burglaries, thefts and bringing a gun to school; recently charged with assaulting a peace officer, and rape of a child.  His sentence was commuted in 2000 by then-Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee.” ….4 police officers killed by a low-life POS that should have been rotting behind bars but was pardoned after only ELEVEN years of his 95 year sentence.  Huckabee did the EXACT same thing for another convicted rapist who later raped and murdered a young woman after being pardoned.  Huckabee should face partial liability, at least in civil court.  He made a decision – TWO decisions – that went against what a jury and a judge deemed appropriate, and now 5 people have been murdered, 2 raped and countless others effected.  Huckabee should stand trial WITH Clemmons, the accused killer.]

Seattle, Washington (CNN) — A manhunt was under way Monday for a suspect in the shooting deaths of four police officers after he apparently eluded authorities in an east Seattle neighborhood....

Posted on Nov 27, 2009 in Global & National News

A new billboard off of Interstate 70 in Missouri provides a short “Citizens guide to REVOLUTION of a corrupt government” and issues a call to “PREPARE FOR WAR.”

This billboard replaces one that warned that the socialist “Obama-Nation” is “coming for you.” It’s unclear who the owner of the billboard is, but the first one was the work of a “Missouri businessman.”

While it’s unclear who owns it, the Lafayette County Republican Central Committee seems to endorse it....

Uninvited Guests Crash White House State Dinner

Posted on Nov 26, 2009 in Global & National News

By JoAnne Allen / Reuters

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The Secret Service is investigating how an uninvited couple was admitted to U.S. President Barack Obama’s White House state dinner, penetrating layers of security, a spokesman said on Wednesday.

The agency charged with protecting the president and other high-level officials is conducting a comprehensive review of the security breach on Tuesday at the dinner in honor of Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, U.S. Secret Service spokesman Edwin Donovan said.

The Washington Post first reported that a northern Virginia couple, Tareq and Michaele Salahi, not on the official guest list, crashed the White House party but were never seated at a table in the South Lawn tent where the dinner was held.

The White House has asked the Secret Service for a full review of what happened, an official said.

“An initial finding has identified one of our checkpoints that did not follow proper procedures to ensure that the two individuals that were named in the Washington Post story were on the invited guests list,” Donovan said. But he said no was at the dinner was ever in danger....

The New York Mets & Israeli Terrorism

Posted on Nov 20, 2009 in Global & National News

By Aaron Levitt – BLN Contributing Writer

When I first learned that the New York Mets were hosting a fundraiser for the nonprofit Hebron Fund at Citi Field in support of the Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank city of Hebron, I honestly assumed it was a joke, albeit a poor one. When I realized this was an actual, planned event, I still found it almost impossible to believe. This is because, even aside from the devastating impact of settlement expansion on the prospects for peace in the region, I have had the misfortune to see, repeatedly and at first hand, the fruits of the Hebron Fund’s labors.

During the summers of 2005 and 2006, and very briefly in 2008, I spent several weeks working as a human rights observer in the Tel Rumeida section of Hebron, home of the Beit Hadassah and Tel Rumeida settlements that are supported by The Hebron Fund. During that time, I encountered racist graffiti with such statements as “Gas the Arabs” and “Fatimah, we will rape all Arab women.” I repeatedly observed settlers throwing stones and clods of earth at young Palestinian girls on their way to elementary school; yelling racial epithets at Palestinians walking in the streets; pushing, kicking, and spitting on Palestinian children and (occasionally) adults who were quietly minding their own business; and hurling large stones down on Palestinian homes and residents from settlement balconies....

Obama Suggests 9/11 Mastermind Will Get Death Penalty

Posted on Nov 18, 2009 in Global & National News

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – President Barack Obama suggested on Wednesday the self-professed mastermind of the September 11, 2001, attacks would be convicted and put to death, but later said he was not trying to prejudge the trial.

[Hayden’s Note: Waiiiit just a bloody minute…  The “self-professed mastermind of…9/11” ?!  I could have sworn that was supposed to have been Osama bin Laden.  I mean, why are we over in Afghanistan chasing ghosts if we have the mastermind in custody and will be put on trial?  Why did we go into Iraq for Osama…err…Saddam…umm… Now I’m confused.     ….do they think the masses have forgotten so quickly the lies they fed us regarding 9/11 and this 8 year war!?  Do they believe no one will question just what exactly is going on?  How many lies must we be fed before we bite the hand that feeds us?  Wake up!  This whole ‘trial’ is a pony show.  This entire war is a farce.]

Speaking in television interviews while traveling in Asia, Obama acknowledged he would miss his January 22 deadline to close the U.S. military prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, where Khalid Sheikh Mohammed is now held, but said he believed it would be shut next year....
