Why I Resigned from the Police Department

Posted on Jan 06, 2012 in Blog, Editorials, & Thoughts, Constitutional & Liberty Issues, Police, Military, & War

Kevin Hayden –

I wrote this blog entry on my MySpace page in 2009 after I resigned from the police department.  I kept it mostly private or “Friends Only.”  I figure now would be a good time as any to share it again with my readers here at TruthisTreason.  I’ve received several emails recently asking about my police service, especially after being interviewed about police corruption on Adam vs The Man.  Furthermore, I was interviewed last year on a joint PBS Frontline, ProPublica, and Times Picayune documentary entitled, “Law & Disorder.”

Why I resigned from the Police Dept.
Category: Blogging

I know many of you are wondering why I resigned from the New Orleans Police Dept. so abruptly.  Some have asked me if I was under criminal investigation, or similar.  Some have asked me if I’ve lost my mind; if I was ‘okay’ or needed some help.

The answer is a resounding NO.

I resigned, in part, due to my frustrations with a system built around obvious and inherent problems.  I finally said ‘enough is enough’ when I woke up one day and could truly see this department for what it really was and how most police officers turn a blind eye to the injustices occurring at their very own hands. ...

Police State 2012: No Need to Wait, It’s Already Here

A TV station in Boston airs a story about a library that sent a police sergeant to collect overdue library books from a 5-year-old girl.

The Associated Press reports on a 70 year old woman in Utah who was wrestled to the ground and arrested for failing to maintain her lawn in accordance with city standards.

The Auto-Tech blog of MSNBC runs a public interest story about the latest must-have gadget for local police stations around the country: 10-person, 16,000 pound armor plated tanks that are paid for by the federal government.

One of the greatest problems in talking about the police state is that all such discussion of the subject is hampered by the lack of a clear-cut definition.

Hayden’s Note:

This article is a great collection of major events that have set us on the path of a total police state.

Given the public’s own ignorance of the true nature and function of a police state, story after story after story of intolerable levels of official oppression, secret illegal surveillance, and increasingly sophisticated technology for tracking, apprehending, incapacitating and even killing dissenters can be dismissed because these stories are reported one at a time, in a contextless and therefore meaningless way that invites the interpretation that these stories are only warnings of what is to come instead of sign posts of a reality that is already here....

US Commander Confirms “Thousands” of US Troops, Missile Systems are Being Deployed to Israel

Posted on Jan 06, 2012 in Police, Military, & War

Kevin Hayden –

Source: Global Research

Without much media attention, thousands of American troops are being deployed to Israel, and Iranian officials believe that this is the latest and most blatant warning that the US will soon be attacking Tehran.

Hayden’s Note:

The most important excerpt –

The Jerusalem Post quotes US Commander Lt.-Gen Frank Gorenc as saying the drill is not just an “exercise” but also a “deployment” that will involve “several thousand American soldiers” heading to Israel. Additionally, new command posts will be established by American forces in Israel and that country’s own IDF army will begin working from a base in Germany.

Tensions between nations have been high in recent months and have only worsened in the weeks since early December when Iran hijacked and recovered an American drone aircraft. Many have speculated that a back-and-forth between the two countries will soon escalate Iran and the US into an all-out war, and that event might occur sooner than thought.

Under the Austere Challenge 12 drill scheduled for an undisclosed time during the next few weeks, the Israeli military will together with America host the largest-ever joint missile drill by the two countries....

Eight Strategic Factors to Consider in 2012

Posted on Jan 04, 2012 in Economic News, Global & National News, Police, Military, & War, Political Issues

Kevin Hayden –

Rarely in the past six decades has global context counted for as much in strategic forecasting — trend analysis — as it does at the dawn of 2012. A study of broad contextual factors, including an expanded view of history, will show how cycles and confluences of trends potentially play a greater disruptive role than at any time since the end of World War II.  We have, in recent writings, stressed the longer-term trends and outlook, but it is important to see how the strategic environment is likely to play out during 2012. Equally, it is important that these trends (and others) are seen collectively, and not separately.

These are not wild predictions and guesses but careful analysis put together by the heads of the International Strategic Studies Association who have a global field collection team of some 200 assets in many countries.

Some of the topics covered in the short report are:

    1. Global Economic and Financial Trends:
    2. Global Energy Supply and Demand:
    3. Strategic Recovery by the US
    4. EU/Eurozone Prospects

CNN Drops Soldier Talking About RP’s Foreign Policy – Update: Gets to Finish Speaking

Posted on Jan 03, 2012 in Police, Military, & War, Political Issues

Kevin Hayden –

I rarely write editorials like this, but my jaw just dropped to the floor.  I’ve been watching the Iowa Caucus coverage and Fox, CNN, etc have been covering the Romney and Santorum camps pretty heavily, as expected.  They finally switched over to the Ron Paul HQ, where the correspondant was interviewing an active duty US soldier.

Jesse Thorsen has served 10 years in the Army, and about to embark on his 3rd tour in Afghanistan.  When the anchor labeled Ron Paul’s foreign policy as “dangerous” – the soldier responded, saying we should stop nit-picking in other countries’ affairs, Israel can take care of herself, and to bring the troops home.  Suddenly, the feed began to go fuzzy and cut out.  Of course, they returned to the studio and began talking about Romney.

Update: Found it!

Update 2: Soldier Talks

I was blown away to watch that live.  I’ll try and find a YouTube video of it later, once someone uploads it.  I’ve been watching for a few hours and CNN has had zero issues with their image or feed.  ...

Pentagon Created the Arab Spring Over a Decade Ago

Posted on Jan 02, 2012 in Global & National News, Police, Military, & War, Political Issues

Kevin Hayden –

The Arab Spring uprisings were arguably the most significant events of the last 12 months. Protests are still raging across the region, even after regimes were toppled. Journalist and author F. William Engdahl gives his view on the Arab world in 2012. – RT

Hayden’s Note:

I’ve been writing about this since it started, and stated then, as I do now, that these “uprisings” are merely Western-sponsored intervention, riding on the coat tails of real grievances.  It is a global de-stabilization operation.  Egypt is a prime example – the protests have started again once the people realized they had been fleeced.

Dec. 24th, 1914 – Belgium

In the end, we have more in common with the furthest flung foreign common man than the closest corporate-fascists that presume dominion over our lives. If only the British & Germans realized it was the greed of their own banking houses that had them in the trenches and not some irreconcilable difference amongst themselves.

Finland Seizes Patriot Missiles on Ship Bound for South Korea and China, Labeled ‘Fireworks’

The Finnish authorities have impounded an Isle of Man-flagged ship bound for China with undeclared missiles and explosives, officials say.

Police are questioning the crew of the MS Thor Liberty after what were described as 69 Patriot anti-missile missiles were found aboard.

Interior Minister Paivi Rasanen said the missiles were marked “fireworks”.

Hayden’s Note:

Well, duh!  What else would our intelligence community write on them?  This seems like a poor joke from a low-budget action film. Fireworks? Really?  ::slaps forehead::

This was not a mishap or mistakenly loaded onto the boat.  These missiles had an intended destination.

The MS Thor Liberty had docked in the Finnish port of Kotka after leaving Germany last week.

Dock workers became suspicious after finding explosives poorly stored on open pallets, and the missiles were then found in containers marked “fireworks”.

Another company official, speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed the ship had been detained in Finland and said the missiles could have been loaded on to the vessel by mistake, AFP adds.

Police did not confirm Finnish media reports that the ship had also been scheduled to stop in South Korea, Reuters news agency reports.

Easy to Understand: Why the Indefinite Detention Bill DOES Apply to US Citizens

Posted on Dec 15, 2011 in Constitutional & Liberty Issues, Police, Military, & War, Political Issues

In response to my essay documenting that the indefinite detention bill does apply to American citizens on U.S. soil, a commentator posted:

Can somebody explain to me like I am 5, why [one of the bill’s provisions – which discusses U.S. citizens] does not protect citizens?

Yes, let me explain it in words that even a 5-year-old can understand …

The bill says that the military must detain anyone SUSPECTED of aiding terrorists.

One provision says that the mandatory (“must”) indefinite detention doesn’t apply to U.S. citizens … but that the government CAN indefinitely detain any US citizen it feels like without trial, without presenting evidence, without letting the citizen consult with a lawyer, and without even charging the citizen.

This would destroy our Constitutional rights to trial, to face our accuser, and to consult with an attorney.

Get it?  Here are some other, easy-to-understand explanations:

Congressman Justin Amash wrote:

Senators McCain and Levin have teamed up to promote one of the most anti-liberty pieces of legislation of our lifetime, S 1867, the National Defense Authorization Act.

Operation Forging Sabre: Singapore Air Force Stages Complex War Game in Arizona

Within mere minutes of spotting a car travelling on a dusty track in the United States’ south-western desert, the Republic of Singapore Air Force’s (RSAF) latest and most lethal “smart” bomb found and hit its target.

The 1.6 million-hectare Barry M. Goldwater Training Area in Arizona – about 19 times the size of Singapore – was where the RSAF dropped the Laser Joint Direct Attack Munitions (Jdams) bomb for the first time on Friday.

The area was also the battleground for one of the Singapore Armed Forces’ (SAF) biggest war games – and the most complex unilateral one – in the United States.

Codenamed Forging Sabre, the exercise, the third since the series started in 2005, was a dry run for the modernised or third-generation SAF.

Chief of Air Force Ng Chee Meng, who observed the proceedings, said putting the Laser Jdams – made by US defence firm Boeing – into action meant that RSAF would be sharper and more precise when “killing off mobile targets at speed”.

He added that RSAF pilots would not have to be exposed to high risks unnecessarily when hunting down the enemy....

Iran Threatens ‘Frightful Response’ to Future Violations of Airspace by Drones

Deputy Chairman of the Majlis (Parliament) National Security and Foreign Policy Committee Esmail Kowsari warned that the next time the US ventures to violate Iran’s air sovereignty, it would receive a “frightful” response.

Kowsari warned that if US surveillance drones attempt to violate Iran’s sovereignty once again, Iran “will target every US military base anywhere in the world.”  The senior Iranian lawmaker further questioned the silence of the international community on the blatant US violation of Iran’s territorial integrity and highlighted the double standard behavior toward Iran.

“Our question is, that if this aircraft belonged to Iran and it had violated US territory, how many sessions would the international community and the UN Security Council have held and how many resolutions would they have issued against Iran?”

Hayden’s Note:

Exactly.  Imagine Iran, or even Russia, launching a surveillance drone and flying over Washington, DC, or Florida, or even Kansas…?  What would the response have been?  We would have likely countered with not only sanctions, and various resolutions, but more than likely a number of clandestine operations targeting their infrastructure and military in retaliation.  ...

David Hochstetler and Richard Hebron, two farmers subpoenaed by the US Department of Justice at the behest of the FDA, have found help, and protection, in an unexpected place… local Sheriff Brad Rogers, who stepped in to the situation and notified the DOJ that if they wanted to have any dealings with those under his protection and jurisdiction, they would have to go through him.

He also warned the DOJ that if they continued to visit David’s farm and property without a proper warrant, he or his officers would arrest them for trespassing.

Even in the face of severe coercive pressure (the DOJ threatened Sheriff Rogers with felony arrest), Sheriff Rogers stood tall and did not back down.

My words to Rogers? “Thank you!”

David Hochstetler has now received a letter stating that he has been released from the subpoena until further notice and that the hearing is cancelled.

The matter of Richard Hebron is still in administrative matters with the Farm to Consumer Legal Defense Fund representing Hebron.

First, before I continue, I encourage everyone to drop an email or call Sheriff Rogers office and say, “Thank you!” Here is the office’s contact information....

Defense and Aerospace Industry Pollutant Now Found in Virtually All Humans Tested

Perchlorate is an environmental pollutant primarily associated with releases by defense contractors, military operations, and aerospace programs, as it is a key ingredient in rocket fuel.

It is now found in virtually all humans tested, and it is continually making its way up the food chain through ground and drinking water, into feed and edible plants, animals products, cow milk and breast milk — contaminating conventional and organically grown food, alike.

It is now distributed widely throughout North America, as depicted by the image below:

The Colorado River is so thoroughly contaminated with perchlorate (1.5-8 micrograms per Liter) that 90% of the lettuce consumed during the winter months in the United States produced in the Lower Colorado River region contains this powerful endocrine disruptor. (Source).

What does it do?

Perchlorate has been used as a “medicine” in this country to “treat” hyperthyroidism since the 1950s despite the fact some patients may develop aplastic anemia (bone marrow destruction) as a result.

Perchlorate interferes with iodide uptake at the sodium-iodide symporter in the thyroid gland which unfortunately has a 30-fold higher affinity for perchlorate than iodide....

SB 1867, Worldwide Indefinite Detention and the Senators Who Betrayed You

Posted on Nov 30, 2011 in Constitutional & Liberty Issues, Police, Military, & War, Political Issues

Kevin Hayden –

‎61 senators have betrayed you this week. They authorized, as an amendment to the Defense Authorization Act, the indefinite suspension of Habeus Corpus (again) and the ability to detain American citizens without charge or trial, anywhere in the world. We are now officially a police state and our country is considered a new part of the “battlefield.”

The worldwide indefinite detention without charge or trial provision is contained within S. 1867, which was passed on the Senate floor Monday. The bill was drafted in secret by Sens. Carl Levin (D-Mich.) and John McCain (R-Ariz.) and passed in a closed-door committee meeting, without even a single hearing.

This provision is almost identical to what John McCain tried last year with Senate Bill 3081, which I outlined in my article, S. 3081 Enemy Belligerent Interrogation – A Sick Merry-Go-Round
