CNN Drops Soldier Talking About RP’s Foreign Policy – Update: Gets to Finish Speaking

Posted on Jan 03, 2012 in Police, Military, & War, Political Issues

Kevin Hayden – TruthisTreason.net

I rarely write editorials like this, but my jaw just dropped to the floor.  I’ve been watching the Iowa Caucus coverage and Fox, CNN, etc have been covering the Romney and Santorum camps pretty heavily, as expected.  They finally switched over to the Ron Paul HQ, where the correspondant was interviewing an active duty US soldier.

Jesse Thorsen has served 10 years in the Army, and about to embark on his 3rd tour in Afghanistan.  When the anchor labeled Ron Paul’s foreign policy as “dangerous” – the soldier responded, saying we should stop nit-picking in other countries’ affairs, Israel can take care of herself, and to bring the troops home.  Suddenly, the feed began to go fuzzy and cut out.  Of course, they returned to the studio and began talking about Romney.

Update: Found it!

Update 2: Soldier Talks

I was blown away to watch that live.  I’ll try and find a YouTube video of it later, once someone uploads it.  I’ve been watching for a few hours and CNN has had zero issues with their image or feed.  ...

The buck stops here and the votes begin: starting at 7 pm CST, more than 100,000 voters – only a small percentage of the state’s electorate – are expected to gather across the state at more than 800 public spots, and cast their votes for their GOP candidate with only three; Paul, Romney and for some unknown reason, Santorum, expected to have a fighting chance.

Results should begin coming in within a few hours. For those following the caucus for the only important reason: to see how Ron Paul does, or is allowed to do, we have the following live feeds for our readers’ disposal:

HR 3166 and Senate Bill 1698

To add engaging in or supporting hostilities against the United States to the list of acts for which United States nationals would lose their nationality.

Status: This bill is in the first step in the legislative process.
Explanation: Introduced bills and resolutions first go to committees that deliberate, investigate, and revise them before they go to general debate.

Hayden’s Note:

So, if you thought Indefinite Detention of US citizens was bad, now they want to simply strip you of your citizenship so that ALL rules of war apply to you should you “step out of line.”  That allows them to skirt the Constitution quite nicely, eh?

And just to make it clear, the term “US National” applies to US citizens and US permanent and temporary legal resident aliens as defined by the Dictionary of Military and Associated Terms, US Department of Defense, 2005.

If there were ever any real questions whether the NDAA allows for indefinite detention of American citizens [and there isn’t], this goes a long ways in making their agenda very clear....

Pentagon Created the Arab Spring Over a Decade Ago

The Arab Spring uprisings were arguably the most significant events of the last 12 months. Protests are still raging across the region, even after regimes were toppled. Journalist and author F. William Engdahl gives his view on the Arab world in 2012. – RT

Hayden’s Note:

I’ve been writing about this since it started, and stated then, as I do now, that these “uprisings” are merely Western-sponsored intervention, riding on the coat tails of real grievances.  It is a global de-stabilization operation.  Egypt is a prime example – the protests have started again once the people realized they had been fleeced.

In a shock announcement Wednesday night, Iowa state senator and onetime Michele Bachmann campaign leader Kent Sorenson declared that he is now supporting Ron Paul for president.

Sorenson made the announcement at a Dr. Ron Paul rally with veterans here in Des Moines, telling the crowd: “I believe we’re at a turning point in this campaign.”

Calling the decision to abandon Bachmann a painful one, Sorenson said he felt obligated to join Paul as the “Republican establishment” tries to undermine his campaign.

“I thought it was my duty to come to his aid, just like he came to my aid during my Senate race, which was a very nasty race,” Sorenson said, pledging to go all-out for Paul over the next few days.

To cheers from the crowd, he continued: “We’re going to take Ron Paul all the way to the White House.”...

This article looks at the proposed Republican legislation for the Payroll tax cut, where the House Republicans have included a provision that forces work to begin again, via Executive Order, on the proposed 1,700-mile-long TransCanada Corp.’s $7 billion Keystone XL pipeline.

Republicans Attempt to Revive Moribund Keystone XL Pipeline

Hayden’s Note:

I will apologize now for the long-winded rant that follows.  Sometimes I just get on a roll and keep typing.  And when it involves Congress, I just wanna scream sometimes.

The “dirty” secret about the Keystone XL pipeline’s oil sands hydrocarbons, which no amount of K Street PR can spin away, is that the oil has a higher carbon content than that from traditional fossil fuels, anywhere from 8 to 14 percent more, depending on which scientific report you read. Accordingly, the EU has already banned their import, much to Ottawa’s annoyance. Much to the consternation of Transcanada and the pipeline’s Republican boosters in Washington, environmental groups in such stalwart Republican states as Nebraska went up in arms over the Keystone XL proposal, fearing that a leak from the underground pipeline would irrevocably pollute the Ogalla Aquifer, source of much of the Great Plains’ agricultural water.

Ron Paul is Tied with Gingrich in Iowa Thumbnail

Ron Paul is Tied with Gingrich in Iowa

With all eyes on Iowa as the state’s key caucuses are slated to begin in two weeks’ time, Congressman Ron Paul is seeing continuing success in the polls.

The results of the latest survey from Public Policy Polling has the libertarian-learning GOP hopeful neck and neck with scandel-laden, former-House Speaker Newt Gingrich. In the data released on Tuesday, Paul’s favoritism in the state of Iowa is apparent in 21 percent of likely Republican voters. Former frontrunners Mitt Romney and Michelle Bachmann both trail the Texas congressman, coming in at 16 percent and 11 percent, respectively.

The surge in support for Paul comes after the candidate has unleashed on Gingrich with a series of campaign ads gone viral that attack the former speaker for his “serial hypocrisy” and flip-flopping (not to mention his 80+ Congressional ethics violations). Public Policy Polling reports that Gingrich saw a drop of 5 percentage points in support in the week leading up to the survey alone.

Earlier this month, Paul acknowledged his surge in support to CNN, telling the network, “I think we continue to do what we’re doing....

Easy to Understand: Why the Indefinite Detention Bill DOES Apply to US Citizens

In response to my essay documenting that the indefinite detention bill does apply to American citizens on U.S. soil, a commentator posted:

Can somebody explain to me like I am 5, why [one of the bill’s provisions – which discusses U.S. citizens] does not protect citizens?

Yes, let me explain it in words that even a 5-year-old can understand …

The bill says that the military must detain anyone SUSPECTED of aiding terrorists.

One provision says that the mandatory (“must”) indefinite detention doesn’t apply to U.S. citizens … but that the government CAN indefinitely detain any US citizen it feels like without trial, without presenting evidence, without letting the citizen consult with a lawyer, and without even charging the citizen.

This would destroy our Constitutional rights to trial, to face our accuser, and to consult with an attorney.

Get it?  Here are some other, easy-to-understand explanations:

Congressman Justin Amash wrote:

Senators McCain and Levin have teamed up to promote one of the most anti-liberty pieces of legislation of our lifetime, S 1867, the National Defense Authorization Act.

December 10th, 2011 ABC Iowa GOP Debate

Near the end, all of the candidates are asked to name one other person on stage that they respect, and have learned something from.  Who received the most gratitude and mention?  Ron Paul.

Rick Perry mentioned how much he had learned about the Federal Reserve from Dr. Paul, along with Newt Gingrich saying he was in support of auditing the Fed – and even firing Ben Bernanke. Even Mitt Romney had some good things to say about Ron Paul and his growing fanbase.

Are they truly appreciative?  Or simply trying to gain brownie points with those still on the fence as they see his popularity skyrocket?

Kucinich Offers HR 3554, Protect Our Food Supply from GMO Crisis

Congressman Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) today announced commonsense legislation that would prohibit open-air cultivation of Genetically Engineered (GE) pharmaceutical and industrial crops, preventing biological contamination of our food supply. The bill would also establish a tracking system to regulate and ensure the safety of GE pharmaceutical and industrial crops.

Hayden’s Note:

This is REAL food safety bill, unlike the Senate’s Food Safety Modernization Act (or SB 510) that was passed last year.  This is REAL change, REAL safety.  The contamination and cross-pollination of genetically modified organisms will destroy our food supply in short order.  It has already bankrupted thousands of American farmers, and has been the root cause of suicide by tens of thousands of Indian cotton farmers.  Monsanto is a bio-tech terrorist, plain and simple, and I consider GMOs to be one of the gravest dangers we face in this lifetime.

GMO soy and corn is the main staple of our industrial cattle and meat supply (when even 1st graders know that cows eat grass!), which often times causes farmers and feed lots to use antibiotics to keep the cows alive (this accounts for nearly 80% of antibiotic use in America – wonder why we have antibiotic-resistant illnesses lately?), and ultimately ends up in your body.  ...

Hayden’s Note:

At the end of this article is a copy of the proposed state sovereignty amendment.

Just following Congress, the 2012 presidential campaign and the inability of citizens to influence government policy makes it clear to every American how broken the US political system has become. A few powerful interests run the entire show and the American people are being forced down a dark road to economic destruction. History shows us that Washington is immune to conventional national political action under the present system. What can freedom loving Americans do?

• We can’t change Washington because Congress is owned and controlled by special interests.

• Neither can we take over the establishment control of either political party as the media elites can break, sideline or ignore any candidate that threatens the elite interests.

• Third party efforts at the national level are doomed to failure and an ineffective tool for promoting freedom principles when compared to the successful Ron Paul campaign effort inside the GOP....

Herman Cain Drops Out of GOP Race

Posted on Dec 03, 2011 in Federal Reserve & Bankers, Political Issues

Kevin Hayden – TruthisTreason.net

It’s official: Herman Cain has dropped out of the race for the Republican Presidential nomination.

Over the last few months, he has been dogged by allegations of extra-marital affairs, sexual harassment, and last but not least, the fact that he used to sit on the Board of the Federal Reserve!  All other jokes and punchlines aside, the fact that Herman Cain was a part of the banking cartel that had a vital part in the collapse of this country clearly shows he should have stepped down long ago. Instead, he touted his Pizza Tax Plan of 9.9.9 and publicly stated that he was a fan of Alan Greenspan’s monetary policy.

Hopefully, the few remaining Cain supporters will see the light and come over to the Ron Paul camp.  In fact, Cain mentioned that he’ll be offering his support for a candidate and it will not be Obama.  My guess?  Santorum or Mitt Romney.

I could hope that Cain frees himself from his puppet master’s shackles and supports Ron Paul and his economic policy.  That would be the only choice that he could make and still maintain some respect.  ...
