Video: Scientists Use Acoustic Waves to Levitate and Study Pharmaceuticals; True Designer Drugs on the Horizon?

Posted on Sep 17, 2012 in Health, Food News, & Big Pharma, Science & Technology

Kevin Hayden –

According to, scientists at Argonne National Laboratory have discovered a way to use sound waves to levitate individual droplets of solutions containing different pharmaceuticals.  This is great, you say?  I would partially agree, from a scientific point of view.

The sheer ability to “levitate” or suspend liquids in regular atmosphere is nothing short of what medieval peasants would call sorcery and magic.  It draws parallels with outright defiance of gravity in the sense that we can not see or hear what is suspending these droplets, but is actually closer to a refined version of using a large fan or vertical wind tunnel to lift an object.

However, there still lies within this experiment a sense of esoteric knowledge; of breakthrough, of seemingly doing the impossible outside the vacuum of space that dazzles our minds.  It harkens back to the ideas of ancient civilizations using acoustic waves to transport or build massive structures that seem too daunting for even today’s massive machinery.

But it’s not magic; two acoustic speakers are positioned towards each other and emit the same frequency.  ...

Apple Moves One Step Closer Toward Location Based Camera Disabling nophoto mini

In June of last year, we reported on an unsettling patent filed by Apple that would allow certain infrared signals to remotely disable the camera on iPhones. It showed the potential downsides of bringing cameras into the world of wireless connectivity, which appears to be the next big thing in the camera industry. Now, a newly published patent is rekindling the fears of those who don’t want “Big Brother” controlling their devices.

U.S. Patent No. 8,254,902, published on Tuesday, is titled, “Apparatus and methods for enforcement of policies upon a wireless device.”

Hayden’s Note:

This will be used primarily for disabling of social networks and communication during civil unrest, protests, etc.

Congressman Bartlett: “Every Citizen Should Develop an Individual Emergency Plan to Prepare for the Absence of Government Assistance for Extended Periods”

In the documentary Urban Danger, Maryland’s Congressional Representative Roscoe Bartlett warned those who can to move their families out of major cities.

Outspoken in his belief that each individual American should prepare for a crisis where the government would be unable to provide for the basic needs of the national population, Bartlett has himself created a hideaway deep in the West Virginia forest. His cabin runs on independent power, he has put away food and canning equipment, stockpiled supplies for the long-term, and is ready for a worst-case scenario should it ever come to pass.

“We don’t really think of those today, because it’s so convenient to go to the supermarket,” he cautions. “But you know, you’re planning because the supermarket may not always be there.”

The electrical grid could fail tomorrow, he frequently warns. Food would disappear from the shelves. Water would no longer flow from the pipes. Money might become worthless. People could turn on each other, and millions would die.

Bartlett’s biggest concern, the vulnerability of our national power grid, is justified through extensive research by private organizations and the US government alike....

Creepy Humanoid Robot #3726 – Now They Can Swim!

In “dammit, Japan” news, comes a humanoid robot that can mimic the freestyle, backstroke and breast-stroke swimming styles of a human. Why? Presumably so when the terrestrial robots herd us all into the water, there will already be some aquatic ones there ready to drown us. Wonderful news, really.  The robots can now jump 30 feet to rooftops, run, walk up stairs, command an army of small, intelligent drones, robotic dogs to carry equipment for them, and cheetah-like machines that chase us.  Welcome to Skynet…

In its primitive prototype form, Tokyo Institute of Technology’s humanoid swimming robot can perform a freestyle crawl at 0.64 meters per second and can also do the backstroke and butterfly.Aside from its researcher’s ambitions of deploying it to rescue drowning victims one day, the robot’s more practical use would be for analyzing how people swim to look for patterns that can help improve a swimmer’s technique.

Okay, using the thing to improve a swimmer’s technique? MAYBE. But “ambitions of deploying it to rescue drowning victims?” Get real....

Portrait of a Drone Killer: Unquestioning Obedience, Coming to a State Near You!

One wonders if drone pilot Col. D. Scott Brenton listens to Louis Armstrong in the suburban Air National Guard Base in Syracuse from which he murders people 7,000 miles away.

“I see mothers with children, I see fathers with children, I see fathers with mothers, I see kids playing soccer,” Brenton tells the New York Times. Drone operators see their intended targets “wake up in the morning, do their work, go to sleep at night,” explains Dave, another high-tech murderer who killed from an office cockpit at Nevada’s Creech Air Force Base and who now trains new recruits to the cyber-killer corps at New Mexico’s Holloman Air Force Base.

When instructed to kill someone he has stalked from the air for a prolonged period, “I feel no emotional attachment to the enemy,” Brenton insists. I have a duty, and I execute my duty.” When the deed is done, he points out, nobody “in my immediate environment is aware of anything that has occurred.”

“There was a good reason for killing the people that I did, and I go through it in my head over and over and over,” insists another drone operator named Will, who — like Dave — served a deskbound “combat” tour at Creech and now trains others to do likewise at Holloman Air Base....

Storms Darken DC for Days, Imagine the Chaos of an EMP Event

Source: The Economic Collapse by Michael Snyder

Sometimes we all get a little reminder of just how completely and totally dependent we are on the power grid.  Massive thunderstorms that ripped through Ohio, West Virginia, Maryland, Washington D.C. and Virginia left millions without power over the weekend.  At this point, it is being projected that some people may not get power back until the end of the week.  The “super derecho” storm that pounded the Washington D.C. area on Friday night with hurricane-force winds is being called unprecedented.

But the truth is that there are other events that could happen that would be far more damaging to our power grid.

Hayden’s Note:

A nuclear detonation high over the United States, known as an air-burst, would end civilization as we know it.  A single electromagnetic pulse or EMP event, 250 miles above Kansas, would theoretically wipe out most electronics from the upper New England region all the way to southern California, and parts of Canada, all the way into Mexico.  Life as we know it would instantly cease and a chaotic, out of control social collapse would ensue.

US and Israel Created Stuxnet, Lost Control of It: Cyber Terrorism as Usual

Posted on Jun 02, 2012 in Alphabet Agencies & Operations, Political Issues, Science & Technology

Kevin Hayden –

Source: Ars Technica via Cryptogon

In 2011, the US government rolled out its “International Strategy for Cyberspace,” which reminded us that “interconnected networks link nations more closely, so an attack on one nation’s networks may have impact far beyond its borders.” An in-depth report today from the New York Times confirms the truth of that statement as it finally lays bare the history and development of the Stuxnet virus—and how it accidentally escaped from the Iranian nuclear facility that was its target.

Hayden’s Note:

If you’ll recall, I told everyone that Stuxnet was a product of American and Israeli cooperation, and not some silly, random hackers last year.  Many people can not wrap their little heads around the fact that our Govt, and many Western-friendly countries, are committing terrorism in varying degrees abroad.  Cyber attacks and espionage? Arming insurrections against sovereign nations for political reasons? Violating sovereign airspace to conduct bombings? Check, check, and check. The American government does it each and every day and is the very definition of terrorism.

The article is adapted from journalist David Sanger’s forthcoming book, Confront and Conceal: Obama’s Secret Wars and Surprising Use of American Power, and it confirms that both the US and Israeli governments developed and deployed Stuxnet....

Russia Used Small EMP Mortars to Target Rebel Cellular Communications

Posted on May 01, 2012 in Emergency Preparedness & Survival, Police, Military, & War, Science & Technology

Military officials say the threat of electromagnetic pulse weapons in future warfare is growing.

The threat is prompting the Pentagon to take steps to harden its computers and electronics against the devastating effects of EMP weapons, which simulate the debilitating effect on electronics produced by a nuclear blast.

A military source tells Inside the Ring that Russia has already developed battlefield EMP weapons and used them in combat.

During the early 2000s, Russian military forces fired an EMP mortar round that deployed a small metal-coated parachute. As it floated to earth, the EMP energy burst was reflected downward by the underside of the parachute and also spread by the cords attached to the shell. The result was a cone of anti-electronic energy that disrupted all electronics within its area.

The mortar was used by Russian forces to attack hand-held cellular telephones used by Chechen rebels to communicate....

Feds and Utilities Argue Over Electromagnetic Pulse Threat Coming in 2014

Posted on Apr 25, 2012 in - NASA / Space Exploration, Emergency Preparedness & Survival

Kevin Hayden –

Source: Business Insider

As scientists warn of an impending solar storm between now and 2014 that could collapse the national power grid, thrusting millions into darkness instantly, a debate has flared up between utilities and the government on the severity of such an event.

NASA and the National Academy of Sciences previously confirmed that an electromagnetic pulse event from an intense solar storm could occur any time between now and 2014.

They say it could have the effect of frying electronics and knocking out transformers in the national electric grid system.

But in February, the North American Electric Reliability Corporation, which represents the power industry, issued a stunning report asserting that a worst-case geomagnetic “super storm” like the 1859 Carrington event likely wouldn’t damage most power grid transformers. Instead, it would cause voltage instability and possibly result in blackouts lasting only a few hours or days, but not months and years.

Hayden’s Note:

Hah!  Riiiiight.  Keep thinking that.  And good luck.

I strongly believe that our government is aware of an imminent threat coming in the next 24 months and is preparing for it.

Boston Dynamics Killer DARPA Robot #3,721 Climbs Stairs – No Where is Safe!

Posted on Apr 12, 2012 in Alphabet Agencies & Operations, Science & Technology

Kevin Hayden –

Designed and built from DARPA funding, Boston Dynamics’ newest robot can climb stairs, making no where safe for you to hide… even if it walks like an angry 5 year old.

I wasn’t exaggerating last week when I said these killer robots would become a regular thing…

Via Boston Dynamics:

A modified platform resembling these robots is expected to be used as government-funded equipment (GFE) for performers in Tracks B and C of the DARPA Maximum Mobility and Manipulation Robotics Challenge that will be held soon.

The GFE Platform is expected to have two arms, two legs, a torso and a head, and will be physically capable of performing all of the tasks required for disaster response scenarios scheduled in the Challenge.

Is our lovely government prepping for a major disaster in a few years and just hasn’t told us?...

Boston Dynamics Killer Robot #3,719? Sand Flea Robot Jumps 30 Feet, Attacks from the Rooftops!

Posted on Mar 29, 2012 in Alphabet Agencies & Operations, Police, Military, & War, Science & Technology

Kevin Hayden –

I’m tellin’ ya, I feel like I post a new video or article about Boston Dynamics each week. This week’s creepy, Skynet-esque killer robot is the Sand Flea. Designed and built from DARPA funding, Boston Dynamics has created a small, wheeled robot that can “jump” onto your rooftop or clear large obstacles.

From a police and military perspective, this will enable advanced surveillance, deployment of gas or pyrotechnic devices in hard to reach spots, and change the landscape of hostile interventions. And you can certainly bet that Homeland Security will encourage local police departments to start using them. Is this a win for “peace officers and soldiers?” Or is it simply the next step in our ever-growing totalitarian police state, courtesy of your tax dollars…?

Supreme Court Rules Human Genes Can Not be Patented

Posted on Mar 27, 2012 in Health, Food News, & Big Pharma, Science & Technology

Kevin Hayden –

Source: AP

The Supreme Court on Monday threw out a lower court ruling allowing human genes to be patented, a topic of enormous interest to cancer researchers, patients and drug makers.

Hayden’s Note:

Is it just me, or has there been a plethora of “wins!” lately when it comes to food freedom, Big Pharma, and personal health?  Not all is doom and gloom!  I would like to think that we are slowly turning back the tide…bit by bit.

The court overturned patents belonging to Myriad Genetics Inc. of Salt Lake City on two genes linked to increased risk of breast and ovarian cancer.

Myriad’s BRACAnalysis test looks for mutations on the breast cancer predisposition gene, or BRCA. Those mutations are associated with much greater risks of breast and ovarian cancer.

The American Civil Liberties Union has been arguing that genes couldn’t be patented, a position taken by a district court judge but overturned on appeal.

The justices’ decision sends the case back down for a continuation of the battle between the scientists who believe that genes carrying the secrets of life should not be exploited for commercial gain and companies that argue that a patent is a reward for years of expensive research that moves science forward....

NSA’s Spy Program ‘Stellar Wind’ Exposed: “Turnkey Totalitarian State”

Posted on Mar 26, 2012 in Alphabet Agencies & Operations, Constitutional & Liberty Issues, Science & Technology

Kevin Hayden –

Source: Lew RockwellBob Adelmann, The New American

The lead story in Wired magazine for April exposed the Stellar Wind program for its intended purpose: to spy on every jot and tittle of every American citizen’s life all the way down to his “pocket litter:” parking-lot stubs, receipts from McDonalds, tickets from his haircut at Cost Cutters, as well as all the way up to the content of his every e-mail, every Google search, every telephone or cellphone conversation.

Stellar Wind is the code name for an effort approved by President George W. Bush following the September 11, 2001 attacks to mine a large database of communications of American citizens but which was allegedly terminated when Congress pushed back against it.

However, the National Security Agency, awash with funds provided by Congress, is nearly finished constructing its Utah Data Center as the collection point for data provided from around the country and around the world. Its purpose: “to intercept, decipher, analyze and store vast swaths of the world’s communications … [including] all forms of communication, including the complete contents of private emails, cell phone calls and Google searches.” In other words, according to James Bamford, author of The Shadow Factory: The Ultra-Secret NSA from 9/11 to the Eavesdropping on America, when the $2 billion facility (consisting of four 25,000 square-foot buildings full of computer servers and their air conditioning units plus a 900,000 square-foot building to house its technical and administration people) is completed in September, 2013,

…virtually everything one communicates through any traceable medium, or any record of one’s existence in the electronic medium, which these days is everything, will … become the property of the US government to deal with as its sees fit.
