Questions About the Website, Requesting Reader Feedback and Comments

Posted on Feb 07, 2011 in Truth is Treason News – Kevin Hayden

As the website continues to expand and grow in new directions, I just wanted to report on how things are going as we approach the 15-month anniversary of!

What started out as an idea to simply blog and report on some of the side-stories in the news has turned into a full-time job.  However, I earn only a few dollars per month from the site.  I remember when I was so excited about having over 100 visitors every day!  And then it was 250, 500 – then 1,000 unique visitors each day.  Nowadays I average between 1,300-2,000 visitors per day!  Sometimes, when one of my original articles gets picked up by the mainstream or bigger sites, I can easily receive 6,000-8,000 visitors for several days in a row.

Currently, has:

– 1,436 articles

– 4,501 tags (!)

– 698 approved comments

– well over 10,000 visitors for the month of February and it’s only the 7th.

This is such a huge endeavor and I want it to be interesting for you, the reader.  I had a poll in the right column sidebar and would occasionally ask questions regarding the site.  I ran into a technical snafu recently with my polling plug-in and searching for a better one still.  In the mean time, please fell free to respond via the comments about what you’d like to see with this website.

Do I have too much content on the main page?

Is it too difficult to digest all of the articles in it’s current form?

Is the front page confusing?

What do you enjoy about the site and what would you like to see here?

I had a monthly contest, offering flags, stickers and silver bullion – but no one would enter in over 6 months.  Free silver!  Should I scrap the whole idea of a monthly contest?

How often do you check the site?  Do you have it bookmarked or did you simply stumble across it during a Google search?

Have you considered a financial donation or do you shop through the affiliate link?  Have you checked out any of the advertisers?

Would you enjoy more actual news, economic information and politics as opposed to editorials, opinion pieces and personal blog entries?

Ultimately, I want to know what I can do better in order to make a better site and a better value for my many readers.

Should I start a subdomain in typical blog-format so that the stories are paragraph-length and in chronological order?  Would that be easier to engage and read?

I hope to hear from many of you.  This site will only improve once I learn what you, the reader, expect and desire.  Otherwise, it’s just a website designed by me and for my personal tastes.
