Aspartame is, by far, the most dangerous substance on the market that is added to foods.

Aspartame is the technical name for the brand names NutraSweet, Equal, Spoonful, and Equal-Measure. It was discovered by accident in 1965 when James Schlatter, a chemist of G.D. Searle Company, was testing an anti-ulcer drug.

Aspartame was approved for dry goods in 1981 and for carbonated beverages in 1983. It was originally approved for dry goods on July 26, 1974, but objections filed by neuroscience researcher Dr John W. Olney and Consumer attorney James Turner in August 1974 as well as investigations of G.D. Searle’s research practices caused the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to put approval of aspartame on hold (December 5, 1974). In 1985, Monsanto purchased G.D. Searle and made Searle Pharmaceuticals and The NutraSweet Company separate subsidiaries.

Aspartame accounts for over 75 percent of the adverse reactions to food additives reported to the FDA. Many of these reactions are very serious including seizures and death. A few of the 90 different documented symptoms listed in the report as being caused by aspartame include: Headaches/migraines, dizziness, seizures, nausea, numbness, muscle spasms, weight gain, rashes, depression, fatigue, irritability, tachycardia, insomnia, vision problems, hearing loss, heart palpitations, breathing difficulties, anxiety attacks, slurred speech, loss of taste, tinnitus, vertigo, memory loss, and joint pain....

Strawberries are shown to be a potent source of antioxidants in a body of research published in the journal Food Chemistry. In vivo studies confirm that regular consumption of the flavorful fruit raises antioxidant blood saturation levels. This can help to lower the risk of chronic diseases ranging from heart disease and cancer to metabolic disorders including diabetes. The study, conducted by Italian and Spanish researchers, demonstrated that eating two cups of strawberries daily for two weeks boosted the antioxidant status of red blood cells and improved the body`s immune response reaction to oxidative stress – lowering disease risk.

European researchers have demonstrated the antioxidant capacity of strawberries on human health using volunteers at the Marche Polytechnic University in Italy. Twelve healthy adults were fed the equivalent of two cups of strawberries over the course of a day for a period of two weeks.

Blood samples were taken after four, eight, twelve and sixteen days and then again after a month. Live blood analysis showed that regular consumption of this super fruit significantly increases the antioxidant capacity of blood plasma as well as the resistance of red blood cells to oxidative haemolysis in a process known as fragmentation....

I wrote an article recently detailing the impacts of rBGH on the welfare of dairy cows. I explained how the use of rBGH was responsible for increased rates of mastitis and how rBGH injections actually have the potential to decrease milk production. Yet, aside from the damage to the animals, rBGH usage is significant in that it also affects humans consuming the milk.

This is because Insulin Growth Factor 1 (IGF-1), another powerful hormone increased in the animals’ system by injections of rBGH, lingers in the milk and has been linked to breast, colon, and prostate cancer in humans.[1]

IGF-1 is present naturally in both cows and humans, and is important for mediating cellular response to growth hormones. While the growth hormones themselves are quite different, cow and human IGF-1 are identical to one another.[2]

The World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF) has just completed a detailed review of more than 7,000 clinical studies covering links between diet and cancer. Its conclusion is rocking the health world with startling bluntness: Processed meats are too dangerous for human consumption. Consumers should stop buying and eating all processed meat products for the rest of their lives.

Processed meats include bacon, sausage, hot dogs, sandwich meat, packaged ham, pepperoni, salami and virtually all red meat used in frozen prepared meals. They are usually manufactured with a carcinogenic ingredient known as sodium nitrite. This is used as a color fixer by meat companies to turn packaged meats a bright red color so they look fresh. Unfortunately, sodium nitrite also results in the formation of cancer-causing nitrosamines in the human body. And this leads to a sharp increase in cancer risk for those who eat them.

A 2005 University of Hawaii study found that processed meats increase the risk of pancreatic cancer by 67 percent. Another study revealed that every 50 grams of processed meat consumed daily increases the risk of colorectal cancer by 50 percent....

Courts Require FDA to Recognize Cancer Fighting Ability of Vitamins C and E

A considerable legal victory has been achieved for the natural health community in defending freedom of health speech. A recent lawsuit filed by the Alliance for Natural Health (ANH) and several other plaintiffs against the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has successfully stopped the FDA from censoring the truth about the health benefits of both vitamin C and vitamin E. The case sets an important precedent for freedom of health speech as the court ruled that censorship of qualified health claims is unconstitutional.

Qualified health claims represent statements that make a connection between a particular substance and its ability to lower disease risk. Such statements can be found on juice containers, cereal boxes, and supplement bottles. One example of a qualified health claim is, “A diet rich in fruits and vegetables may reduce the risk of some types of cancer and other chronic diseases.”

The landmark 1999 case “Pearson vs. Shalala” established that food and supplement manufacturers are freely permitted to include qualified health claims on their products, so long as there is scientific evidence to back it up.

A new open-access, collaborative study published in the Journal of Translational Medicine provides a credible, scientific rationale for the use of intravenous vitamin C as a treatment for cancer. Citing 246 references and supported by both oncologists and alternative medicine practitioners, the study highlights the scientific successes involving the use of intravenous vitamin C to improve immunity, help prevent cachexia, and boost overall quality of life for cancer patients.

“Currently there is a great divide in the way intravenous vitamin C is viewed,” said Thomas Ichim, a board member of the Riordan Clinic and first author of the publication. “On the one hand, you have alternative medicine practitioners who have been claiming very interesting results in practical treatment of cancer patients, but cannot explain any molecular rationale for its use or potential effects. On the other hand you have a great amount of scientific literature supporting possible relevance of this approach in cancer. This paper is a significant step towards closing the divide.”

Mega-Doses of Vitamin D Help Prevent Breast Cancer and Other Diseases

Current government recommendations of 400 or 600 international units (IU) of vitamin D a day are insufficient to prevent serious diseases like breast cancer, a new study published in the journal Anticancer Research has found. Researchers from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) School of Medicine and Creighton University (CU) School of Medicine discovered that when much higher doses of vitamin D are taken daily, the risks associated with developing several major diseases are reduced by about half.

“We found that daily intakes of vitamin D by adults in the range of 4000-8000 IU are needed to maintain blood levels of vitamin D metabolites in the range needed to reduce by about half the risk of several diseases — breast cancer, colon cancer, multiple sclerosis, and type 1 diabetes,” said Cedric Garland, DrPH, professor of family and preventive medicine at the UCSD Moores Cancer Center.

“I was surprised to find that the intakes required to maintain vitamin D status for disease prevention were so high — much higher than the minimal intake of vitamin D of 400 IU/day that was needed to defeat rickets in the 20th century.”

A review of several thousand volunteers taking between 1,000 and 10,000 IU/day of vitamin D revealed that much higher daily intakes of vitamin D are required to achieve blood serum levels of vitamin D in the healthy range of 40 to 60 nanograms per milliliter (ng/mL), or higher....

False: FDA Moves to Ban Injectable Vitamin C, Further Destroying the Health of Americans

Counterpoint provided at bottom – the FDA is NOT banning IV Vitamin C.  Several websites, this one included, took the original report for face value and failed to investigate the claim further.  Although I’m an avid supporter of Natural News, they sort of dropped the ball on this one.  Regardless, it has placed the subject of IV C onto a lot of people’s radar who might have otherwise never heard of it or the awesome benefits of ascorbic acid in the fight against cancer. 

Not content to kill 100,000 Americans each year with deadly Big Pharma drugs while censoring the truth about the healing effects of herbs, nutritional supplements and natural medicines, the FDA has now set out to deny Americans access to yet another lifesaving medicine known simply as vitamin C.
