Why Did CBS Scrub a Story About Army Spy Planes Capturing the Times Square Bomber?

Yesterday, we reported on the curious disappearance of a WCBS report that military spy planes had been used to capture the Times Square bomber. Why was this story scrubbed? We have the answer. Sort of.

The original WCBStv.com article, “Army Intelligence Planes Led to Suspect’s Arrest,” by Marcia Kramer, read:

In the end, it was secret Army intelligence planes that did him in. Armed with his cell phone number, they circled the skies over the New York area, intercepting a call to Emirates Airlines reservations, before scrambling to catch him at John F. Kennedy International Airport.

Then, a few minutes after we wrote about it, the article was rewritten with no mention of spy planes, and no indication it had been updated. Spooky! We asked WCBS what happened, and a spokesman responded:

The story that was broadcast by WCBS-TV did not include any mention of a military plane, although the station did have unconfirmed information about the use of a plane that we looked into but were unable to confirm. A line about the use of military aircraft was inadvertently included in the story that appeared on the station’s Web site but was removed....

‘Back from dead’ Pakistan Taliban Leader Threatens US Cities via CIA Media Outlet

Pakistani Taliban leader Hakimullah Mehsud has vowed to attack major US cities in two purported new videos released months after his reported killing in a US missile strike.

The videos emerged after an attempted car bombing in New York City, for which his faction claimed responsibility in a third video, and provided the most substantial evidence so far that he survived a US attempt on his life.

However, Mehsud’s group has made false claims in the past. A little over a year ago, the group “claimed responsibility for the attack on an immigration center in New York which left 13 people dead.”

Mehsud threatened to retaliate against the United States for the killing of Islamist militant leaders, appearing in a nine-minute video allegedly made on April 4, after his supposed death in January.

The videos spotlight the Islamist militant threat in nuclear-armed Pakistan, which the United States has put on the front line of the war on Al-Qaeda and where Pakistani troops have waged multiple offensives against the Taliban.

“The time is very near when our fedayeen will attack the American states in the major cities,” said Mehsud, who was seen flanked by two armed and masked men in the video released by the SITE and IntelCenter monitoring groups....

CIA Documents Suggest Foreign Involvement in 1995 OKC Bombing

By Jerry Bohnen

CIA documents suggest foreign involvement in OKC 1995 Bombing but a Judge refuses to make them public in FOIA case.

Someone from a foreign country was involved in the Oklahoma City 1995 bombing of the Murrah building, either as a participant, planner or government operative, suggests a Utah federal judge’s ruling in a Freedom of Information Fight.

And the same ruling by U.S. District court judge Clark Waddoups showed the CIA assisted federal prosecutors in the cases they built against Tim McVeigh and Terry Nichols.  The ruling last week in Salt Lake City came in the FOIA challenge made by Jesse Trentadue, an attorney who has been in a long struggle to get government documents regarding the 1995 death of his brother Kenneth in the Oklahoma City Federal Transfer Center.

Jesse Trentadue sought a dozen documents from the CIA and Judge Waddoups ruled they were considered ‘national security’ and would not be made available to the public.  It was the first such national security defense ever used by the government in denying records to Trentadue.

While the exact content of the documents was not revealed in detail, Judge Waddoups, in making his ruling against Trentadue hinted at what they regarded....

American Terror Suspect Involved in Mumbai Massacre Worked for DEA

Hayden’s Note:

I am still of the mind that the next “terrorist event” that occurs on American soil will be similar to the Mumbai attacks.  If you recall, just a few weeks ago, members of a Congressional committee, including US Military commanders, intelligence chiefs and the Secretary of State herself, Miss Queen Hillary Clinton stated that a terrorist event was not only imminent, but would happen within a 90 day timeframe.

I will be detailing my thoughts on the subject in an upcoming Featured Article.  Stay tuned!

An American charged with helping plan the 2008 terrorist attacks in Mumbai, India, moved effortlessly between the United States, Pakistan and India for nearly seven years, training at a militant camp in Pakistan on five occasions, according to a plea agreement released by the Justice Department last week.

The odyssey of David C. Headley, 49, included scouting targets in several cities in India and meeting with a senior operative of Al Qaeda in Pakistan’s tribal areas. These and other new details of Mr. Headley’s activities, contained in the plea agreement, raise troubling questions about how an American citizen could travel for so long undetected from his home base in Chicago to well-established terrorist training camps in Pakistan.

New York Terror Suspects: The Feds Put Us Up to It

Posted on Mar 22, 2010 in Global & National News

Defense attorneys say an alleged plot to bomb New York synagogues was hatched and directed by a federal informant.

Lawyers for four men from Newburgh have filed a motion to dismiss the terror indictment against them.

They said the informant badgered the defendants until they got involved in the plot.

They said the informant chose the targets, supplied fake bombs for the synagogues and a fake missile to shoot down planes. The motion said he also offered to pay the defendants, who attorneys alleged weren’t inclined toward any crime until the informant began recruiting them.

“The government well knew that their case had been a government-inspired creation from day one and that the defendants had not been independently seeking weapons or targets,” the motion said.

Federal court spokesman Herb Hadad said the government would file its response next month.

The four men, who were arrested last May, face up to life in prison if convicted. They have been previously identified as James Cromitie, 55, David Williams, 28, Onta Williams, 32, and Laguerre Payen, 27, all of Newburgh in upstate New York, where authorities were conducting raids at their homes, sources said....

The Road to Armageddon

By Paul Craig Roberts
Information Clearing House

The Washington Times is a newspaper that looks with favor upon the Bush/Cheney/Obama/neocon wars of aggression in the Middle East and favors making terrorists pay for 9/11. Therefore, I was surprised to learn on February 24 that the most popular story on the paper’s website for the past three days was the “Inside the Beltway” report, “Explosive News,” about the 31 press conferences in cities in the US and abroad on February 19 held by Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth, an organization of professionals which now has 1,000 members.

I was even more surprised that the news report treated the press conference seriously.
How did three World Trade Center skyscrapers suddenly disintegrate into fine dust? How did massive steel beams in three skyscrapers suddenly fail as a result of short-lived, isolated, and low temperature fires? “A thousand architects and engineers want to know, and are calling on Congress to order a new investigation into the destruction of the Twin Towers and Building 7,” reports the Washington Times.

The paper reports that the architects and engineers have concluded that the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the National Institute of Standards and Technology provided “insufficient, contradictory and fraudulent accounts of the circumstances of the towers’ destruction” and are “calling for a grand jury investigation of NIST officials.”

The newspaper reports that Richard Gage, the spokesperson for the architects and engineers said: “Government officials will be notified that ‘Misprision of Treason,’ U.S....

Arrested Terrorist Leader Exposes Extensive CIA Connections

The leader of a Pakistan based terrorist organisation closely affiliated with Al Qaeda has detailed how his group benefited from extensive political and financial support from the CIA in return for continued attacks against the government, the people and the infrastructure of Iran.

Abdolmalek Rigi, the leader of the Pakistan-based Jundullah terrorist organization was captured earlier this week by Iranian security officials in the south of the country.

Rigi was tracked by Iranian intelligence when he boarded a flight from Dubai to Kyrgyzstan on Tuesday.

According to officials, Rigi was using a forged Afghan passport which was issued to him by the U.S. government.

The 31-year-old terror leader issued a statement on Iranian state TV yesterday, during which he alleged that he had made a pact with the U.S. for safe haven and unlimited military aid to pursue terrorist activities against the Iranian government.

“They said they would cooperate with us and will give me military equipment, arms and machine guns. They also promised to give us a base along the border with Afghanistan next to Iran,” Rigi said....

Congressional Hearing Reveals US Intelligence Agencies Shielded Flight 253 Bomber

Posted on Feb 03, 2010 in Alphabet Agencies & Operations, Featured Articles

Source: WSWS

(Hayden’s Note: I noticed that Flight 253 was a Northwest airlines flight.  Why is it that EVERY SINGLE photo on the internet and from major media outlets shows a Delta Airlines plane being surrounded by police on Christmas day?)

A January 27 hearing of the House Committee on Homeland Security established that US intelligence agencies stopped the State Department from revoking the US visa of Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab. The Nigerian student, whom US officials suspected of being affiliated with the Yemeni terrorist group Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, attempted to set off a bomb on Northwest Flight 253 into Detroit on Christmas Day. Revocation of Abdulmutallab’s visa would have prevented him from boarding the airplane.

The hearing was reported in a brief article posted January 27 on the web site of the Detroit News, headlined, “Terror Suspect Kept Visa to Avoid Tipping Off Larger Investigation.”

The revelation that US intelligence agencies made a deliberate decision to allow Abdulmutallab to board the commercial flight, without any special airport screening, has been buried in the media. As of this writing, nearly a week after the hearing, the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post and Los Angeles Times have published no articles on the subject....

False Flag Event Averted Due to Local Law Enforcement, Seizure of Weapons

Posted on Jan 26, 2010 in Global & National News

Somerset County investigators seized a cache of weapons including a grenade launcher and hundreds of rounds of ammunition today from the Branchburg motel room of a Virginia man, who also had maps of a U.S. military facility and an out-of-state civilian community.

Hayden’s Note:

[While I try not to cut’n’paste from other websites – I couldn’t help with this story.  Kevin over at Cryptogon.com has mirrored my sentiments exactly with the two links at the bottom, aptly titled ‘Flashback.’  As I was reading through this article, red flags kept going up and the entire scenario sounds suspicious.  This is strictly my opinion, but it sounds as though this former military man was about to be used as a patsy when local law enforcement got involved before anything could happen.  How many times have we seen this play out?  The following links spell it out in black and white.

Not only do we get an underwear bomber on Christmas day which has already led us to full body ‘nekkid scanners’ in airports, but recently we heard from the long deceased Osama bin Laden in a freshly released audiotape from IntelCenter.  ...

9/11 Commission Chairman: Plane Bomber “Did Us A Favor”

Posted on Jan 04, 2010 in Global & National News

Source: InfoWars

9/11 Commission whitewash chief Thomas Kean told CNN yesterday that the Christmas Day plane bomber “did us a favor,” by allowing Obama to expand the so-called war on terror into Yemen, a startling reminder that the highly suspicious Flight 253 attack served to fulfil pre-determined U.S. geopolitical objectives.

“This guy in some respects looking at it in retrospective probably did us a favor,” Kean told CNN’s State of the Union Sunday talk show, adding that the attempted attack shifted the Obama administration’s attention away from health care and global warming and back to the war on terror.

“We weren’t really focused on Yemen and the terrible things that are happening there. Now we are and that’s a good thing,” said Kean.

“The GOP chairman’s quote raised eyebrows; by his logic, the Sept. 11, 2001 attackers may also have “done us a favor” by drawing US attention to extremism in Afghanistan,” writes Raw Story’s John Byrne.

However, Kean’s implication that Yemen was not a subject of U.S. geopolitical interest before the attempted attack drew attention to the country is completely at odds with the facts....

Senator Lieberman Considers Pre-Emptive War with Yemen

Posted on Dec 28, 2009 in Featured Articles

[Hayden’s Note: Sure, let’s just invade EVERY country in which possible al-Qaeda ((read: All-CIA-duh!)) reside.  Soo, when do we invade Egypt?  Wehn will we see a formal invasion of Pakistan?  The United States?  South America?  Those in charge of “intelligence” claim there at al-Qaeda behind every closed door and hiding around every corner… yet I’ve not seen one bit of credible evidence that this ‘terrorist network’ is anything more than a CIA front helping to turn moderate Islamics into fanatical holy warrior wanna-bes.  OTHER intelligence circles (some from the DoD) stated there are only about 100 actual al-Qaeda insurgents present in Afghanistan, where the majority is believed to be operating out of, along with Osama bin Laden.  Get your facts straight, intelligence community!  Stop trying to raise these false flag terror operations in order to further your neoconservative, war mongering corporate plans!]
Speaking on Fox News Sunday, Senator Joeseph Lieberman (I-CT), who leads the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, has a vision of “tomorrow’s war.”

“Somebody in our government said to me in Sana’a, the capital of Yemen, Iraq was yesterday’s war,” Lieberman explained....
