Even more embarrassing than a student discovering your GPS tracking device on his car, as the FBI found out last year, is having to ask him to give the expensive piece of equipment back.

So security researcher Brendan O’Connor is trying a different approach to spy hardware: building a sensor-equipped surveillance-capable computer that’s so cheap it can be sacrificed after one use, with off-the-shelf parts that anyone can buy and assemble for less than fifty dollars.

At the Shmoocon security conference Friday in Washington D.C., O’Connor plans to present the F-BOMB, or Falling or Ballistically-launched Object that Makes Backdoors. Built from just the hardware in a commercially-available PogoPlug mini-computer, a few tiny antennae, eight gigabytes of flash memory and some 3D-printed plastic casing, the F-BOMB serves as 3.5 by 4 by 1 inch spy computer. And O’Connor has designed the cheap gadgets to dropped from a drone, plugged inconspicuously into a wall socket, thrown over a barrier, or otherwise put into irretrievable positions to quietly collect data and send it back to the owner over any available Wifi network....

Americans Buy Record Number of Guns for Christmas

Source: Telegraph (Everyone keeps emailing this story, so here it is!)

According to the FBI, over 1.5 million background checks on customers were requested by gun dealers to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System in December. Nearly 500,000 of those were in the six days before Christmas.

It was the highest number ever in a single month, surpassing the previous record set in November.

Hayden’s Note:

You can certainly gauge the mood of a society by looking at its shopping habits.

On Dec. 23 alone there were 102,222 background checks, making it the second busiest single day for buying guns in history.

The actual number of guns bought may have been even higher if individual customers took home more than one each.

Rajat K. Gupta, a former Goldman Sachs director and McKinsey & Company chief executive, surrendered to the Federal Bureau of Investigation on Wednesday morning to face charges of insider trading, the latest development in the government’s multiyear crackdown on illegal activity on Wall Street.

Hayden’s Note:

This article reads like a typical resume of the Global Elite and is a corrupt melting pot of insider information across the spectrum.  Harvard, American Airlines, Goldman, the FDA, Proctor & Gamble, Bill Gates …  Makes me think of the massive insider trading that occurred just prior to 9/11 against American Airlines and United.  Hmmm.  Wonder if he was a part of that, too…?

In charging Mr. Gupta, the government will tie up one of the biggest loose ends resulting from the investigation into the Galleon Group, which began nearly five years ago at the Securities and Exchange Commission. Since then, more than two dozen people have pleaded guilty or been convicted of swapping illegal tips around company earnings and other major corporate events....

The Fast and Furious scandal, in which the Justice Department knowingly gave Mexican criminal gangs thousands of guns, just keeps escalating. The latest development centers around whether or not Attorney General Eric Holder lied to Congress about having knowledge of the controversial gun trafficking operation.

Recently released documents say Holder was briefed about the operation long before he told the Judiciary Committee he was first aware of what was going on.

Hayden’s Note:

Holder now claims he misunderstood the question that was being asked. Riiiiight.  If I were the top Attorney for the US, I would be easily confused by simple questions, too. “When did you hear about Fast and Furious?”

“….uhhh, I don’t know.”

“Can you rephrase the question?”

“I’m having a hard time hearing you.”

“Err, I have to take this call, be right back.”

Anytime politicians or officials wrangle their way out of important questions, they should be taken to the town square, placed in stocks, and …well, I better stop before I get some sort of terrorism charge for suggesting that our public officials maintain their oath and integrity and are held responsible when they fail to do so.  ...

FBI Targets Self-Reliant Preppers and Emergency Preparedness in Domestic Terrorism Bulletin

Source: SHTF Plan

If you’ve been preparing for emergencies, disasters, or economic collapse there’s a strong likelihood that you’ve been added to a watch list somewhere.

Hard to believe?

The latest Communities Against Terrorism guidelines distributed by the FBI to military surplus stores in the state of Colorado outline specific activities that owners and retail associates should look for when trying to spot terrorist related activity. Much of the suspicious activity listed describes the behavior and shopping list of any modern day prepper:

What should I consider suspicious?

People or groups who:

  • Provide identification that is inconsistent or suspect or demand identity “privacy”
  • Insist on paying with cash or uses credit card(s) in different names
  • Make suspicious comments regarding anti-US, radical theology, vague or cryptic warnings that suggests or appear to endorse the use of violence in support of a cause
  • Demonstrate interest in uses that do not seem consistent with the intended use of the item being purchased
  • Possess little knowledge of intended purchase items
  • Make bulk purchases of items to include:
    -Weatherproofed ammunition or match containers
    -Meals Ready to Eat
-Night Vision Devices; night flashlights; gas masks
    -High capacity magazines
    -Bi-pods or tri-pods for rifles

The brief bulk purchases list described above is something you might find in the wish-list or supply closet of any serious prepper....

I Spy – You Spy, Part XII – US Sugar Beet Assoc., Homeland Security & the FBI

Posted on Aug 05, 2011 in Truth is Treason News – Kevin Hayden

Are we only at part 12, now?  I used to write these up all the time, but I’ve gotten tired of looking at my visitor logs and seeing nothing but Govt agencies and spooks.  This simply started out as a means to show the IRS and the Census Bureau that I was well aware of their prolonged presence on the website last year.  But, one more installment couldn’t hurt.  Just a few random agencies mostly, but the US Sugar Beet Association was actively searching for me by name after my hit piece on High Fructose Corn Syrup, my email exchange with the President of the Corn Growers Association and more.  I feel cherished.  Hah.

Senate Committee Keeps Domestic Surveillance Portion of PATRIOT ACT Secret, Denies Access to Concerned Fellow Senators

Posted on Aug 03, 2011 in Alphabet Agencies & Operations, Police, Military, & War – Kevin Hayden

Source: Wired

The secret Patriot Act is staying secret.
Two Senators have been warning for months that the government has a secret legal interpretation of the Patriot Act so broad that it amounts to an entirely different law — one that gives the feds massive domestic surveillance powers, and keeps the rest of us in the dark about the snooping.“There is a significant discrepancy between what most Americans – including many members of Congress – think the Patriot Act allows the government to do and how government officials interpret that same law,” wrote the Senators, Ron Wyden and Mark Udall.
“We believe that most members of the American public would be very surprised to learn how federal surveillance law is being interpreted in secret.”
The Senators tried to get the government to reveal some of the law’s contents, by forcing the Director of National Intelligence and the Attorney General to produce a report outlining when this secret surveillance has gone overboard. Yesterday, the effort failed. The Senate Select Committee on Intelligence said no to the report by rejecting Wyden and Udall’s amendment to the FY2012 Intelligence Authorization Act.In other words: we are all still in the dark about how the government is spying on us.The Senators won’t say, exactly, what elements of this secret Patriot Act have them so spooked....

FBI Conveniently “Can’t Find” Oklahoma City Bombing Videos After FOIA Request

Posted on Jul 08, 2011 in Alphabet Agencies & Operations, Constitutional & Liberty Issues – Kevin Hayden

The FBI has not found videotapes from the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing that are being sought by a Utah lawyer and do not believe another records search is reasonable or will uncover the information, the agency has told a federal judge.

FBI officials are “unaware of the existence or likely location of additional tapes”that would fulfill the Freedom of Information Act request filed by Salt Lake City attorney Jesse Trentadue, agency attorneys said in court papers filed last week.

Hayden’s Note:

Dirty, dirty liars.  Why is it that the film always goes “missing” when some extraordinary event occurs that changes mankind – and is filmed from dozens of angles by multiple cameras?  The arrest of Timothy McVeigh?  They would have kept it.  The explosion that rocked the Heartland?  The film would have been preserved.  Carefully.  At one time, this was the single largest, most deadly attack on American citizens in history.  And …they… can’t find the several dozen films of it?  Oh.  Okay.  I’ll just go back to grazing with the rest of the herd. ...

DOJ and TSA Threaten to Cancel Flights from Texas if HB 1937 Passes – Update: Bill Pulled, Senator Patrick Responds

Posted on May 25, 2011 in Alphabet Agencies & Operations, Constitutional & Liberty Issues – Kevin Hayden

Source: Lone Star Report (Original date: May 25th, 13:05)

The U.S. Department of Justice sent a letter to House and Texas Senate leaders Tuesday — reportedly in person — threatening a shut-down of airports if HB 1937 is passed.

The letter claims Rep. David Simpson’s (R-Longview) anti-TSA-groping bill is against federal law and the Supremacy Clause of the U.S. Constitution. We include the text of the DOJ’s letter, as well as a portion of Simpson’s reply, below.

UPDATE II – May 26th, 2011 – 12:09

I received a comment from “Senator Dan Patrick” with an Austin, TX based IP address.  I can not confirm nor deny this is actually the Senator as it was from an SBC network and not a .gov address.  However, if true (and it sounds heartfelt), I apologize, Mr. Senator.  Here is the comment in it’s entirety.  I will follow-up with a supplemental article shortly as I investigate the comment’s origins a bit more.  Senator, feel free to contact me from a .gov address at if you would like to offer a brief interview regarding this situation....

Armed FDA, IRS and FBI Agents Raid Family Nutrition Store, Seize Everything for “Labeling Non-Compliance”

Amidst all the destructive activities taking place in our world today that deserve attention, the FDA has decided instead to make it a personal mission to destroy the businesses and livelihoods of those trying to help people through natural medicine.

On Thursday, April 14, 2011, dozens of agents from the FDA, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), and the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) conducted an unprovoked, full-scale raid on Hood River, Ore.-based Maxam Nutraceutics, a company that produces and sells nutritional supplements primarily for autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and Alzheimer’s disease.

Back in October 12, 2010, the FDA sent a warning letter to Jim Cole, Founder and CEO of Maxam, notifying him that several of his company’s products were not labeled in accordance with the US Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act. The letter also stated that Maxam had fifteen days from the receipt of the letter to notify the FDA compliance officer of the specific steps it planned to take in order to correct the violations.

You can view a copy of the FDA warning letter here, complete with the name of the FDA compliance officer to whom Jim and his company were instructed to respond, and the FDA district director who sent the letter:…

Oddly enough, the vast majority of the “unapproved labels” in question were not actually labels at all....

Logistical Coordinator of Drug Cartel Claims FBI, DEA, DHS, ICE Assistance in Multi-Ton Cocaine Shipments

Posted on Apr 26, 2011 in Alphabet Agencies & Operations – Kevin Hayden

Source: Narco Sphere via

A high-level player with one of the most notorious narco-trafficking organizations in Mexico, the Sinaloa “cartel,” claims that he has been working with the U.S. government for years, according to pleadings filed recently in federal court in Chicago.

That player, Jesus Vicente Zambada Niebla, is the son of Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada Garcia — one of the purported top leaders of the Sinaloa drug-trafficking organization. Zambada Niebla was arrested in Mexico in March 2009 and last February extradited to the United States to stand trial on narco-trafficking-related charges.

The indictment pending against Zambada Niebla claims he served as the “logistical coordinator” for the “cartel,” helping to oversee an operation that imported into the U.S. “multi-ton quantities of cocaine … using various means, including but not limited to, Boeing 747 cargo aircraft, private aircraft … buses, rail cars, tractor trailers, and automobiles.”

The revelation that Zambada Niebla claims to have been a U.S. government asset, working with its sanction, is a shocking development in the so-called drug war and has gone largely un-reported by the U.S....

Obama’s “Moral Highground” Means More Detention, Torture and Bombings

Blowing Smoke: Obama Is Morally High

On his second day in office Obama promised to close the Guantanamo Bay “detention” center (if it was called a prison camp it would connote that the inmates are prisoners, and prisoners are entitled to rights, detainees aren’t).  Guantanamo remains open for business and continues to be a national embarrassment to this day.

Promising to return America to the “moral high ground” in the war on terror Obama continues to miserably renege on virtually all of his promises.  He voted for the extension of the Patriot Act, expanded the wars in Afghanistan and now into Pakistan, and the list goes on and on.  If that wasn’t bad enough, Obama recently launched an air war against Libya, completely bypassing Congress.  Obama’s moral high ground also means allowing tortured persons to be tried in a military tribunal without habeas corpus.

(c) The individuals currently detained at Guantánamo have the constitutional privilege of the writ of habeas corpus. Most of those individuals have filed petitions for a writ of habeas corpus in Federal court challenging the lawfulness of their detention…The detention facilities at Guantánamo for individuals covered by this order shall be closed as soon as practicable, and no later than 1 year from the date of this order…    January 22, 2009.

FBI ‘Secret’ Memo Details ABC Reporter as Informant During ’95 OKC Bombing, Saudi Connection

Posted on Apr 05, 2011 in Alphabet Agencies & Operations – Kevin Hayden

Source: Public Integrity

A once-classified FBI memo reveals that the bureau treated a senior ABC News journalist as a potential confidential informant in the 1990s, pumping the reporter to ascertain the source of a sensational but uncorroborated tip that the network had obtained during its early coverage of the Oklahoma City bombing.

The journalist, whose name is not disclosed in the document labeled “secret,” not only cooperated but provided the identity of a confidential source, according to the FBI memo — a possible breach of journalistic ethics if he or she did not have the source’s permission.

The ABC employee was even assigned a number in the FBI’s informant database, indicating he or she was still being vetted for suitability as a snitch after providing “highly accurate and reliable information in the past” and then revealing information the network had obtained in the hours just after the 1995 terrorist attack by Timothy McVeigh.

The journalist “advised that a source within the Saudi Arabian Intelligence Service advised that the Oklahoma City bombing was sponsored by the Iraqi Special Services who contracted seven (7) former Afghani Freedom Fighters out of Pakistan,” an April 17, 1996 FBI memo states, recounting the then-ABC journalist’s interview with FBI agents a year earlier on the evening of the April 19, 1995 bombing....
