Nearly Lost Gerson Tapes Restored, Reveal Censored Cancer Cures that Have Saved Thousands of Lives

Posted on Jul 19, 2011 in Health, Food News, & Big Pharma – Kevin Hayden

Source: Natural News

Have you heard about the Gerson Tapes?  They’re a collection of interviews and teachings from Charlotte Gerson, who runs the Gerson clinics that have successfully treated thousands of cancer patients with a therapy based on cleansing, detoxification and live foods nutrition.

The treatment is so successful that, even today, thousands of patients from around the world flock to the Gerson clinics in Mexico ( to heal themselves of cancer, diabetes, heart disease and other chronic degenerative conditions.

Why are the clinics in Mexico? Because, not surprisingly, U.S. authorities have outlawed all natural cancer treatments in America and even viciously attacked the top scientists who discovered scientifically-valid cancer cures that really work. Want some proof? Watch the shocking documentary “Burzynski” and you’ll be stunned by what you learn.

That documentary is available to be watched, full length, at no charge right now at NaturalNews.TV. Seriously, watch this video and you will be absolutely blown away by how the government has declared war on our country’s best anti-cancer pioneers who could cure millions of people.

What to Eat While Traveling, Camping or in the Middle of the Ocean – Easy Ideas for Paleo or Primal Diets

Posted on Jul 18, 2011 in Health, Food News, & Big Pharma – Kevin Hayden

The dedication of my readers to maintain the Primal lifestyle through thick and thin never ceases to impress me. They fly halfway across the world just to go barefoot, eat turkey skin, crawl around on a jungle gym, and hunt for sandcrab carcasses in Oxnard, CA. They research, shop for, and eventually purchase entire chest freezers and then fill the interiors with cow, lamb, and pig pieces. And, if a slew of recent emails is indeed representative of the community at large, they’re deeply committed to eating Primally (Paleo’esque) when traveling, on the road, camping, or in the middle of the ocean. (In the last week I’ve received emails from a band member, a truck driver, a backpacker, and a naval officer.) That’s great, and I’m happy to hear about the dedication, but they weren’t writing in for virtual pats on the back. They wanted cold, hard advice for staying dietarily true in unfamiliar, potentially unfriendly locales, and I thought I’d help out.

So, what is one to do without access to the local grass-fed beef guy, cast iron skillets, bug-eating chicken eggs, and the diner that cooks everything in bacon grease?...

5 Foods to Naturally Beat Depression Without Big Pharma

Posted on Jul 17, 2011 in Health, Food News, & Big Pharma – Kevin Hayden

Source: Natural News via Food Matters on Facebook

Drug advertisements and conventional doctors tell the public that depression is caused by an imbalance of a neurotransmitter in the brain called serotonin. This idea makes it seem that drugs that flood the brain with serotonin are the answer to depression, but there is no scientific evidence that drug therapy really works. In studies in which scientists lowered serotonin levels to induce depression, the experiment failed. Other studies found that dramatically increasing serotonin levels in the brain failed to relieve depression. So why do doctors persist in prescribing medications with side effects ranging from mood swings to suicidal or homicidal behaviors when those drugs may not even work?

There are treatment options that can relieve depression without swallowing pills. Many of the symptoms of depression can be directly linked to vitamin and mineral deficiencies in the standard American diet, which is largely comprised of empty carbs, caffeine and sugar. Depression, mood swings and fatigue often have a common cause: poor nutrition. Avoiding depression or recovering from a depressive episode is often as easy as changing your diet and boosting your consumption of key foods that deliver brain-boosting nutrients and help regulate brain chemistry....

Under-Eating, Biological Age and the Best Foods to Fill You Up While Shedding Pounds

Posted on Jul 15, 2011 in Health, Food News, & Big Pharma – Kevin Hayden

Source: Lew Rockwell

What you’re about to read here may change the way you think about food. Yes, once you see the facts, you’ll realize that most of the products on the grocery shelves don’t fit your biology. Most of today’s dietary products are not designed to keep your body young.

The genes that regulate your biological age are highly sensitive to your diet, as they’re triggered or inhibited by what you eat, how much you eat, and how often. The point is: You need to know how your diet affects your biological age. You need to know what food keeps you young and what food is making you old.

How Your Diet Affects Your Biological Age

It has been largely agreed that one of the most detrimental causes of aging is excessive calorie intake. Scientists speculate that humans have an overly strong drive to eat when food is readily available. And since people are surrounded today with calorie dense food, they tend to consume excess calories, which then cause them to gain weight, lose health, and age prematurely....

Peru Votes for 10-Year Ban on GMOs

Posted on Jun 24, 2011 in Health, Food News, & Big Pharma – Kevin Hayden

In the world of genetically modified foods, it is rare to find a country or nation that has not been over-run with genetic contamination.  In the United States, the vast majority of all corn and soy is either intentionally engineered or has been contaminated.  Countless small farmers have gone bankrupt due to contamination of their corn crops and the subsequent lawsuits from Monsanto that quickly follow.  Large parts of Mexico continue to lose family heirloom varieties due to passing trucks dropping GE kernals on the sides of roads or pollen blowing in the wind from adjacent GMO fields.

But there are a few safe(r) havens for quality food.  Germany is one of the leaders in this field, banning or requiring labeling on GMO products; the UK – only due to consumer demand and a grassroots effort – requires labeling; but now Peru joins that crowd.  Peru’s Plenary Session of Congress enacted a ten-year moratorium on genetically modified crops in open defiance to the previous government administration’s pushes for legalization and embracement of GMOs.

Sadly, Peru’s neighbor, Brazil, has welcomed genetically modified foods with open arms, leading to scores of GMO crops being distributed worldwide.

Food Stamp Insanity: Perfectly Okay to Buy Lobster, Steak and Mountain Dew with Taxpayer Money

Posted on Jun 20, 2011 in Health, Food News, & Big Pharma – Kevin Hayden

Source: Natural News

In a growing U.S. entitlement economy, where even $2 million lottery winners still collect food stamps, it should not be surprising to find that they can be used to purchase steaks, lobster and a whole lot of Mountain Dew.

Louis Wayne Cuff of Menominee, Mich., was arrested and charged with food stamp fraud last week for allegedly purchasing $141.78 worth of those items with a state-issued food stamp card, then selling them for 50 percent of their value.

The little enterprise could cost Cuff up to five years of his freedom and a $10,000 fine, the report said, but the greater issue is the fact that taxpayers – many of whom are struggling to make ends meet and would probably love to be able to afford to eat better themselves – are paying for steak, lobster and all the corn-syrup soda that some food-stamp recipients can pour down their throat. One particular case involved no less than 24 cases of Mountain Dew. Why was he even allowed to buy the soda in the first place?

What Dow Chemical Doesn’t Want You to Know About Your Water

Posted on Jun 15, 2011 in Health, Food News, & Big Pharma – Kevin Hayden

Source:  Civil Eats – Anna Lappé

Earlier this year, I was contacted by a PR firm working for Dow Chemical to contribute a 60-second video for The Future We Create virtual conference on water sustainability the company launches today. As a vocal advocate for strict regulation of toxic chemicals—especially for food and farming—I was surprised the company would approach me. Dow is the country’s largest chemical maker, and profits handsomely from developing some of the world’s most polluting products, many of which are widely used in industrial and consumer goods as well as agriculture.

In the video I submitted (posted above), I stress that one of the greatest threats to clean water is chemical contaminants—and that Dow Chemical has a long history of water pollution. The PR representative e-mailed to say “unfortunately we can’t use your video,” but that she would be happy to include me, still, if I would consider re-recording it. When we discussed what that would mean she said, no “fingerpointing;” they wanted a “positive, inclusive discussion.”

I believe in inclusiveness and engagement, but I also believe we must pursue those principles within a context that is honest....

Liberty and Victory Gardens Produce Abundance

Posted on Jun 14, 2011 in Urban Gardening, Farming & Homesteading – Kevin Hayden

Source:, and in part,

Food is a market that will always exist.  Many people are turning away from industrial farmed food, seeking healthier choices and getting back to the basics.

Victory gardens in America produced up to 40% of all vegetables consumed during World War II. Over 20 million home gardens, apartment rooftop plants and community plots produced 9-10 million tons of produce; equal to the amount of commercial production at that time. The population during the war years increased from approximately 132 million people in 1940 to 140 million in 1945. Current US population is approaching 311 million people.

Hayden’s Note:

While the ‘Victory Gardens’ of the 40’s and 50’s were an amazing thing, I believe that this day in age, it would be more appropriate to call home gardening efforts “Liberty Gardens.”  Personal Liberty from the FDA, the USDA, the BioTech Agri-Terrorists such as Monsanto, rising food prices and oppressive government legislation.  Liberty Gardens.  Pass it around.

A family in Pasadena, California is making a living from selling produce grown in their yard to neighbors and restaurants....

BPA Exposure Worse than Previously Estimated

Posted on Jun 13, 2011 in Health, Food News, & Big Pharma – Kevin Hayden

Source: Civil Eats

According to a new study, exposure to the gender-bending chemical Bisphenol-A (BPA) is worse than previously estimated. The study, which appeared Monday in Environmental Health Perspectives, is the first to recreate the chronic daily intake of BPA in humans, which leaches into our food–our primary channel for exposure–via its packaging. Researchers showed this by feeding a steady BPA-spiked diet to mice, whereas previous studies have only used a single exposure.

BPA has been linked to fertility problems, obesity, diabetes, heart disease, attention deficit disorder and cancer. Scientists at the University of Missouri, led by Cheryl Rosenfeld, found that a constant stream of BPA into the body could result in the chemical sticking around longer than expected.

“When BPA is taken through the food, the active form may remain in the body for a longer period of time than when it is provided through a single treatment, which does not reflect the continuous exposure that occurs in animal and human populations,” Rosenfeld said. “We need to study this further to determine where the ingested BPA becomes concentrated and subsequently released back into the bloodstream to be distributed throughout the body.”

She also considered that the consequences of this could be even more dire:

We know that the active form of BPA binds to our steroid receptors, meaning it can affect estrogen, thyroid and testosterone function.

FDA Finally Admits Chicken Meat Contains Cancer-Causing Arsenic, Compliments of Pfizer Thumbnail

FDA Finally Admits Chicken Meat Contains Cancer-Causing Arsenic, Compliments of Pfizer

Posted on Jun 10, 2011 in Health, Food News, & Big Pharma – Kevin Hayden

Source: Natural News

After years of sweeping the issue under the rug and hoping no one would notice, the FDA has now finally admitted that chicken meat sold in the USA contains arsenic, a cancer-causing toxic chemical that’s fatal in high doses. But the real story is where this arsenic comes from: It’s added to the chicken feed on purpose!

Even worse, the FDA says its own research shows that the arsenic added to the chicken feed ends up in the chicken meat where it is consumed by humans. So for the last sixty years, American consumers who eat conventional chicken have been swallowing arsenic, a known cancer-causing chemical. (…)

Until this new study, both the poultry industry and the FDA denied that arsenic fed to chickens ended up in their meat. The fairytale excuse story we’ve all been fed for sixty years is that “the arsenic is excreted in the chicken feces.” There’s no scientific basis for making such a claim… it’s just what the poultry industry wanted everybody to believe.

But now the evidence is so undeniable that the manufacturer of the chicken feed product known as Roxarsone has decided to pull the product off the shelves (…).

Study: Conventional Cosmetic Products Linked to Damaging Side Effects Thumbnail

Study: Conventional Cosmetic Products Linked to Damaging Side Effects

Posted on Jun 10, 2011 in Health, Food News, & Big Pharma – Kevin Hayden

Source: Natural News

A new report published by the Norwegian Institute of Public Health (NIPH) highlights some of the worst cosmetic products that cause harmful side effects. Among the most damaging are permanent hair dyes, facial and body moisturizers, cleansers, and even sunscreens, all of which are used by a significant portion of the overall population. And cases of severe reactions from such everyday-use products are widespread, say researchers.

Cosmetics, of course, imply much more than just make-up for women. Hair gels, toothpastes, mouthwashes, skin creams, body sprays, moisturizers, deodorants, and pretty much anything else a person applies to skin or hair is considered a cosmetic product. In other words, virtually every human being uses some kind of cosmetic product every single day.

According to the report, entitled National Register of Adverse Effects from Cosmetic Products 2008-2010, roughly 12 percent of survey respondents indicated that they experienced “very unpleasant adverse effects” as a result of applying common, conventional cosmetic products to their skin and hair. Some of these effects were so severe that respondents indicated that they had to be hospitalized.

Forensic Evidence Emerges that European E.Coli Superbug was Bioengineered to Produce Human Fatalities

Posted on Jun 06, 2011 in Health, Food News, & Big Pharma – Kevin Hayden

Source: Natural News

Even as the veggie blame game is now under way across the EU, where a super resistant strain of e.coli is sickening patients and filling hospitals in Germany, virtually no one is talking about how e.coli could have magically become resistant to eight different classes of antibiotic drugs and then suddenly appeared in the food supply.

This particular e.coli variation is a member of the O104 strain, and O104 strains are almost never (normally) resistant to antibiotics. In order for them to acquire this resistance, they must be repeatedly exposed to antibiotics in order to provide the “mutation pressure” that nudges them toward complete drug immunity.

So if you’re curious about the origins of such a strain, you can essentially reverse engineer the genetic code of the e.coli and determine fairly accurately which antibiotics it was exposed to during its development. This step has now been done (see below), and when you look at the genetic decoding of this O104 strain now threatening food consumers across the EU, a fascinating picture emerges of how it must have come into existence....

GROWing a Movement

Posted on Jun 02, 2011 in Health, Food News, & Big Pharma – Kevin Hayden

Source: Civil Eats

The movement for reform to our flawed food system is growing stronger every day. Cooks, consumers, and campaigners alike are waking up in increasing numbers to the dangerous and unsustainable impacts of the way much of our food is grown, sold, and consumed.

This progress could not come at a more important moment. Our global food system works only for the few–for most of us it is broken. It leaves consumers lacking sufficient power and knowledge about what we buy and eat and almost a billion people hungry worldwide, millions of whom live here in the U.S.

The failure of the system flows from failures of government–failures to regulate, to correct, to protect, to resist, to invest–which mean that companies, interest groups, and elites are able to plunder our resources and to redirect flows of finance, knowledge, and food to suit themselves.

And now we have entered an age of growing crisis, of shock piled upon shock: Vertiginous food price spikes and oil price hikes and devastating weather events that catch us somehow unaware and unprepared....

Support Efforts to Block GM Potato Plantings by Signing Petition

Posted on Jun 02, 2011 in Health, Food News, & Big Pharma – Kevin Hayden

Source: Natural News

Last week, NaturalNews covered the ongoing battle being waged by Greenpeace activists in Sweden against the illicit planting of BASF’s genetically-modified (GM) potato, Amflora, which was deceitfully approved in the country based on shoddy studies (…). After being arrested and released twice, the “human shield” is once again back at the warehouse where it still plans to stop the plantings — and these tireless defenders of food integrity need your help to ensure that the “Frankenpotatoes” never make it into the ground.

Current European Union (EU) law forbids the planting of Amflora because it contains a genetic resistance to antibiotics, which experts agree is a threat to the already problematic rise in antibiotic-resistant “superbugs.” And while the Swedish government admits that the safety studies used to approve Amflora were inadequate, it is doing nothing to stop plantings of the GM crop in the country’s northern crop fields.

Hayden’s Note:

It is now being discovered that the recent E. Coli outbreak in Germany and parts of the EU are due to a never-before-seen superbug, likely from the overuse of antibiotics in livestock....
