The first time photographer Angelo Merendino met Jennifer, he knew she was the one. They fell in love and got married in New York’s Central Park, surrounded by family, friends, and loved ones.

Five months later Jen was diagnosed with breast cancer. From Angelo’s blog: “I remember the exact moment…Jen’s voice and the numb feeling that enveloped me. That feeling has never left. I’ll also never forget how we looked into each other’s eyes and held each other’s hands. ‘We are together, we’ll be ok.’”

Throughout her battle, Angelo decided to photograph it. He wanted to humanize the face of cancer on the face of his wife. The heart breaking photos speak for themselves.

Stock Market Tumbles 1,000 Points: Hayden’s Note on Tangible Goods

The Dow has fallen more than 1,000 points from the peak of the Market

That didn’t take long. On Monday, the Dow was down another 326 points. Overall, the Dow has now fallen more than 1,000 points from the peak of the market (16,588.25) back in late December. This is the first time that we have seen the Dow drop below its 200-day moving average in more than a year, and there are many that believe that this is just the beginning of a major stock market decline.

Hayden’s Note:

As noted previously, and repeatedly, I believe that tangible goods are the most secure way of protecting your wealth. Whether talking of precious metals, or farmland, or quality implements, tools, firearms, or otherwise, tangible goods – those things that you can put in your hand and use – are of utmost importance in this age of economic uncertainty.

While I applaud the Bitcoin crowd, and even partake in it myself to a small degree, Federal Reserve notes, digital currency, bonds, bank notes, and stock market investments, otherwise known as “paper investments”, hold up very poorly unless you live your life in front of several computer screens, monitoring events in real-time, and work as a day trader.

Excerpt from US Patent #20140025755

“When there are at least a given number of video clips with similar time stamps and geolocation stamps uploaded to a repository, it is inferred that an event of interest has likely occurred, and a notification signal is transmitted (e.g., to a law enforcement agency, to a news organization, to a publisher of a periodical, to a public blog, etc.).”

I feel the need to comment on this issue because I am such a tech-geek. While I absolutely love our electronic frontier, and the constant pushing of boundaries and new ideas, I am also a staunch privacy and Constitutional advocate. As our technology stretches into what was once only science fiction, it is hard to develop apps or widgets that provide services without them also invading our private lives.

I am interested to hear what you have to think about not only this Android patent, but the rapid growth of personal technology. Do you see this particular tech as a benefit or a hindrance?

Hayden’s Note: Cheerios Goes GMO-Free, But General Mills Still Supports GMOs

Posted on Jan 03, 2014 in Health, Food News, & Big Pharma

In a rather surprising move, General Mills makes the announcement that they are no longer using genetically modified organisms in their flagship cereal, Cheerios.

“We switched from what we were using, to non-GMO corn and non-GMO pure sugar cane,” said General Mills spokesman Mike Siemienas.

He said the company did not change the formula and has never used genetically modified oats. The company said that it has always used whole grain oats.

[Whole grain oats that are grown with a hefty dose of pesticides and chemicals?]

But he said the company did switch from using beet sugar, which is sometimes almost always genetically modified, and also switched from certain sources of Monsanto corn to ensure that their corn sources were not genetically modified would not kill all of their customers. He said this change occurred over the last year and required a significant investment.

[Significant investment? Like the $1.1 Million General Mills donated against the labeling of GMO's under California's Proposition 37?]

However, these changes apply only to original Cheerios, he said, because purging genetic modification from the myriad other types, like Honey Nut and Apple Cinnamon, would be “difficult, if not impossible.” – Source: CNN Money

While I applaud any major company making the change to GMO-free products, this is clearly due to public outcry, food activists, and General Mills realizing that in order to survive in the coming age of real food, they must change their act....

Fifteen people on their way to a wedding in Yemen were killed in an air strike after their party was mistaken for an al Qaeda convoy, local security officials said on Thursday.

The officials did not identify the plane in the strike in central al-Bayda province, but tribal and local media sources said that it was a drone.

“An air strike [...] hit a wedding car convoy, ten people were killed immediately and another five who were injured, died after being admitted to the hospital,” one security official said.

Hayden’s Note:

The CIA’s program of “targeted” drone killings in Pakistan’s tribal heartlands is politically counterproductive, kills large numbers of civilians, and undermines respect for international law, according to a report by US academics.

“The dominant narrative about the use of drones in Pakistan is of a surgically precise and effective tool that makes the US safer by enabling ‘targeted killings’ of terrorists, with minimal downsides or collateral impacts. This narrative is false,” the report, entitled Living Under Drones, states.

It is clear to see that our use of drones increases militant recruitment, as well as fueling hatred towards our Nation....

Following an unarmed couple fleeing a routine traffic stop in Cleveland back in December 2012, a total of 104 police officers — that’s right, one hundred and four — joined in a 25-minute pursuit where 13 officers fired a total of 137 bullets at the couple and their car. The driver, Timothy Russell, was shot 23 times and the passenger, Malissa Williams, was shot 24 times. While some speculated that the two may have been armed at the very least to garner such a forceful response, no actual weapons were recovered from either person or the vehicle.

Hayden’s Note:

This is the result of the War on Drugs mentality, as well as the influx of military veterans-turned-police officer. As for the argument of the couple using their vehicle as a “deadly weapon”, Courts have ruled on this issue time and time again, saying that police officers have a duty to try and escape the path of a vehicle being used as a weapon, and only using force if no other alternative is available.

How America Has Been Mercury Poisoned by an Industry in Denial: Hayden’s Note

Last Friday, the city council of Berkeley, California, voted to keep mercury hidden in dental fillings, keeping consumers in the dark on the fact that they are all being poisoned with a deadly neurotoxin that causes permanent brain damage. This decision to keep consumers in the dark was, of course, supported by dentists and doctors — both of which have a long history of covertly poisoning their own patients while refusing to disclose the damaging effects of the deadly chemicals or toxic heavy metals they routinely (and profitably) use.

It turns out that “amalgam fillings” are intentionally and deliberately misnamed for the express purpose of misleading consumers. Those fillings are actually more than 50 percent mercury, and once installed in mouths, they off-gas mercury vapor which is then inhaled by the patient, entering their bloodstream and causing permanent cellular damage to heart, kidneys, liver and brain. Click here to see a video of mercury fillings off-gassing deadly mercury vapor.

Hayden’s Note:

I grew up with fluoride and mercury fillings.  The majority of my molars and back teeth had fillings by the time I turned 18.

Hayden’s Note: Big News! Obtaining My CDL & Life on the Road

Posted on Jul 05, 2013 in Blog, Editorials, & Thoughts

Kevin Hayden – TruthisTreason.net

UPDATE: I passed the driving academy and state exams; I am now a CDL holder!

I felt as though a short update was in order.  I’ve been writing new articles recently and I’m sure you’re wondering why they suddenly stopped this week.

My wife and I decided to completely forego our current career fields – I was a suit and tie, corporate investigator for Big Oil and my wife was a Petroleum Landman for another oil company – and radically change our futures.

I’ve never been content with the 9-5 world; it didn’t work when I was a police officer, and it didn’t work when I was in a high-rise tower, protecting CEOs, or investigating theft and fraud in the oil field. I merely remained in that career because it was something I was good at and had extensive training in, instead of pursuing something that truly brought me joy.

So, to remedy that, we decided to write down what we truly wanted to do in life and then figure out the shortest and most radical way to attain those goals....

EMP Attack and Solar Storms, Part II: Cascading Failures and Nuclear Meltdown

Posted on Jun 27, 2013 in Emergency Preparedness & Survival, Featured Articles, Science & Technology

Kevin Hayden – TruthisTreason.net

Some time ago, we discussed the broad implications of an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) attack, such as that from an aerial detonation of a nuclear device, and the similar effects of a large solar storm or coronal mass ejection from the sun.  In that discussion, we looked at the overall aspects of the crisis, including interruptions to our trucking industry, which in turn would represent a massive failure in our food, health, and fuel delivery systems.  Other topics included traffic gridlock, potential vehicle failure, and briefly, what to expect after the lights go out.

In Part II of this guide, we will dive into a more technical look at what even the most minor of electrical hiccups and disturbances can do to our delicate, computerized world, as well as explore how interconnected our society truly is.  However, in order to adequately set the stage for understanding the grave threat under conditions in which all of our infrastructures fall prey to simultaneous failure, it is imperative to understand that the “vulnerability of the whole — of all the highly interlocked critical infrastructures — may be greater than the sum of the vulnerability of its parts.” (1)

If a singular system goes down, it can result in a cascade of failures across the spectrum, from communications, to banking, to government services, and even water treatment and sanitation. ...

Hayden’s Note: Chipolte Becomes First US Restaurant to Voluntarily Label GMOs, Vows to Eliminate Them

The recent decision by Whole Foods Market to label all genetically-modified organisms (GMOs) sold in its stores by the long-off date of 2018 looks silly and almost meaningless compared to the right-now policy of fresh food chain Chipotle, which is officially the first and only major U.S. food supplier to voluntarily label GMOs. On its “Ingredients Statement” website, Chipotle clearly outlines which of its food products contain GMOs, and also states that it is working aggressively to source completely non-GMO ingredients for all of its products as it moves forward.

Chipotle has always marketed itself as a healthy alternative to fast food, having taken steps from the beginning to eliminate things like dairy products produced using the artificial growth hormone rBST, for instance, and replacing them with pasture-raised dairy products. Chipotle has also played a key role in propelling forward the local agriculture movement by sourcing as many locally-grown and organic ingredients as possible, and eliminating artificial additives and other toxins commonly used in fast food.

But now Chipotle has set the bar even higher, and by choice, delineating each and every ingredient used in its meats, beans, rice, and dressings, and clarifying which ones contain GMOs....

Hayden’s Movie Reviews: One Hundred Mornings

“When society breaks down, how quickly does our humanity follow?” – Jeannette Catsoulis

As much as I rail against certain aspects of Hollywood, I must admit that I’m a sucker for a good movie, especially one that revolves around those familiar disaster scenarios. And as a bit of a stray from our regular posting categories, I figured I would share some recent movie selections, as well as offer a bit of commentary.

Late this morning, as I was scuttling around the apartment, eyes half-open and nearly spilling my coffee as I bumped into furniture, I settled onto the couch to watch a movie I had been dying to see. With an afternoon forecast of storms and heavy rain, I felt as though this was the perfect chance to watch “One Hundred Mornings“; an Irish, post-apocalyptic …drama?

As Filmmaker Magazine said, it is a haunting, lyrical piece. It’s not an action flick. There is no virus, no zombies, and no comet hurtling towards Earth. Instead, the film allows you to discern what happened and throws you in the midst of it....

Hayden’s Note: McCain Visits Syria, Meets with Terrorists, err… “Rebel Leaders”

Posted on May 29, 2013 in Global & National News, Police, Military, & War, Political Issues

The leaders of the Supreme Military Council of the Free Syrian Army told the senator they want the U.S. to provide arms, a no-fly zone, and strikes on Hezbollah.

Sen. John McCain Monday became the highest-ranking U.S. official to enter Syria since the bloody civil war there began more than two years ago, The Daily Beast has learned.

Hayden’s Note:

The “Syrian rebels”, as I’ve stated for a very long time, are mostly made up of guerrilla fighters, insurgents, and freelance mercenaries willing to fight for whomever pays. We saw this exact same operation in Libya, and again, the “rebels” received American support, including money, arms, logistics, communications, and air support. Many of those “rebels” were openly-admitted al-Qaeda members, some who had notoriously killed American soldiers only a year prior.

I understand that some of you are fiercely patriotic, but start questioning things like this. It is a direct violation of the National Defense Authorization Act to arm or support al-Qaeda members, as well as meeting the very definition of treason – “…to give aid or support to the enemy.”

Do you see the blatant lies here?

Former LAPD Officer Brings Unconventional Warfare to the Thin Blue Line; UPDATE

In yet another story detailing how police officers are leaning towards the trend of shooting first and asking questions later, two women were shot by LAPD officers searching for murder suspect and former police officer Christopher Dorner.  Dorner is accused of murdering the daughter and future son-in-law of former LAPD Captain Randy Quan, who defended Dorner at the disciplinary hearing in which he was expelled from the police force.

Dorner left a lengthy manifesto on his Facebook page detailing his plans to terminate those responsible for his firing. In it, he alleges that he was fired by the corrupt Los Angelos Police Department who were seeking to silence his whistleblowing attempts.

The former cop and Navy Reservist made it quite clear that he was gunning for members of the police department when he wrote, “I will bring unconventional and asymmetrical warfare to those in LAPD uniform whether on or off duty.”

Law enforcement engaged in a shootout with Dorner shortly after the killing of Captain Quan’s daughter, which ended with Dorner wounding one officer and forcing another to retreat after riddling their patrol car with bullets....

[Video] Police Shoot Man 3 Times Immediately Upon Entering House: Hayden’s Note & the Failed War on Drugs

Kevin Hayden – TruthisTreason.net

A joint drug task force from Weber and Morgan county, Utah, executed a search warrant on Todd Blair’s house on September 16th, 2010, resulting in the shooting death of Blair only two seconds after entry was made.

The “Weber-Morgan Strike Force” initiated an investigation into Blair’s residence with a focus on his roommate, Melanie Chournos. Police stated in their application for warrant that Ms. Chournos would likely destroy evidence upon their arrival, and requested a night time, “no-knock warrant” for the squirrely female.  However, prior to the raid, law enforcement became aware of the fact Blair’s roommate had moved out of the house.  With warrant already in hand, or rather, still back at the police station, the Strike Force decided to conduct the night time raid anyway.

Friends and family of Mr. Blair plainly admit to his drug usage, but said he was a drug addict and not a drug dealer.

After the SWAT team hit the door three times in an attempt to open it, and as the video clearly shows, Mr. Blair appears in a far hallway, shirtless, and with a golf club in his hands....
