Former Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad says the US compelled the UN Security Council to impose sanctions against Iran in order to weaken the country and lay the ground for a military attack. “The world is made to believe once again the lie that Israel’s existence is being threatened by a nuclear armed Iran,” Mohamad said at the opening of the Breaking the Gaza Siege summit in Kuala Lumpur.

Iran’s president says US and NATO forces offer financial and material support to terrorists, yet US President Barack Obama, ironically enough, sends a condolence message on the recent deadly terrorist attacks in southeast Iran.

A new United Nations report released on Tuesday calls for abandoning the U.S. dollar as the main global reserve currency, saying it has been unable to safeguard value. “The dollar has proved not to be a stable store of value, which is a requisite for a stable reserve currency,” the U.N. World Economic and Social Survey 2010 said.
Hayden’s Note:
The US Dollar is not a stable store of value because it is not based on any tangible item. It is a fiat currency; that is, it holds value simply by fiat – by decree or lawful order. Nixon took us completely off the gold standard, which unhinged the US Dollar from anything valuable other than the “full faith and good credit of the United States.” Do you believe that the United States could actually make good on it’s “promissory notes” in 5 years?

Iran permitted the U.S. and Israel to score a propaganda victory on Monday when it refused to allow two International Atomic Energy Agency inspectors entry into the country for an inspection of its nuclear program. Iran has stated that the two inspectors made an ”untruthful” assessment of the Islamic Republic’s nuclear program and refused them entry. In April, Rep. Ron Paul of Texas stated the obvious — sanctions imposed on Iran are tantamount to a declaration of war against the country. “We need to see all this for what it is: Propaganda to speed us to war against Iran for the benefit of special interests,” Paul added.

Three German-built Israeli submarines equipped with nuclear cruise missiles are to be deployed in the Gulf near the Iranian coastline. The first has been sent in response to Israeli fears that ballistic missiles developed by Iran, Syria and Hezbollah, a political and military organisation in Lebanon, could hit sites in Israel, including air bases and missile launchers. The vessels can remain at sea for about 50 days and stay submerged up to 1,150ft below the surface for at least a week. Some of the cruise missiles are equipped with the most advanced nuclear warheads in the Israeli arsenal. Hayden’s Note: 50 days? So we might see military action before that time is up. The new moon arrives in about 2 weeks.

Just as the US did in 2002 with the GOPS and Iraq, Congress has just passed the Comprehensive Iran Sanctions, Accountability and Divestment Act. Once again we see the same propaganda coming from the Gov. that brought us to Iraq, being repeated by the Dems as they work towards war with Iran. All of this because of possible WMD’s in Iran. Doesn’t matter that the CIA already has said they aren’t building them. Its like deja vu…

Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has written to the UN chief asking him to launch an investigation into the September 11, 2001 attacks on the United States. “The minimum expectation from your excellency is to set up an independent and trusted fact-finding group to comprehensively investigate the real factors behind September 11,” Ahmadinejad said.

How does one propose “sound practices” for practices that are inherently unsound? Yet that is what our regulatory guardians did. The statement is powerful evidence of the permissive approach bank regulators took toward the debt-dissolving financial products that our banks had been developing, hawking and using themselves for years. And it’s good reason for Americans to be outraged by the “who me, what, where?” reaction of Mr. Bernanke and the S.E.C. to the revelation of Lehman’s Repo 105 scam.
