I guess if you’re doing fake crisis response, you might as well fake a photo of the crisis response center. Why do they need a fake photo at all? Don’t they have a real crisis response center they could have used?
Also, an astute reader noticed that the meta info for the photo says it was created in 2001, not July 16, 2010 as claimed on BP’s site. It looks like BP took a photo from 2001, and in order to make it look like the command center in July of 2010, they pasted pictures of the oil well leaking over the old photo.

“It was decided in 2006 to exclude from the main text of the report data and references to a likely 15 per cent house price overvaluation that was contained in a themed research paper,” according to Prof Honohan’s report.

The previously unknown deposits — including huge veins of iron, copper, cobalt, gold and critical industrial metals like lithium — are so big and include so many minerals that are essential to modern industry that Afghanistan could eventually be transformed into one of the most important mining centers in the world, Pentagon officials believe. An internal Pentagon memo states that Afghanistan could become the “Saudi Arabia of lithium…” And I bet KBR & Halliburton get the contracts, right? Gee, what a coincidence…

In admitting he conspired to obstruct justice, Lohman acknowledged helping concoct a cover story for police shootings that left two New Orleanians dead and four injured in the chaotic days after Hurricane Katrina. Among other things, the government says Lohman participated in a scheme to plant a gun at the scene, and helped rewrite police reports and witness statements to make a fabricated version of events seem more plausible.

Dear Mr. President,
With all of your charm and wisdom (please note the sarcasm), I have decided to help you with the tough situation you find yourself in. To reduce the national deficit and to make good on your campaign promises of “Hope & Change” and “No new taxes!”, I offer you this advice:
Stop %&$#’ing spending.

President Barack Obama suggested on Wednesday the self-professed mastermind of the September 11, 2001, attacks would be convicted and put to death, but later said he was not trying to prejudge the trial. (Then why were we chasing bin Laden if he wasn’t the mastermind…?)
