Saving Women and Preventing Genocide: The New “Reason” We’re in Afghanistan

Aug 10th, 2010 | By Kevin Hayden | Category: Police, Military & War

So now the cheerleaders for war would have us believe that they are more concerned for the welfare of Afghan civilians than are those who wish to end the US occupation. Just as US military occupation in the Middle East has been a boon for recruitment among Islamic extremist groups, the US bombing of neutral Cambodia during the Vietnam War inspired many in that country to support the radical communist Khmer Rouge, giving it the support necessary to take control of that country and ultimately inflict horrors. *** To suggest we are in Afghanistan to protect and defend women’s rights is simply absurd. Violence against females has increased since the invasion. Terrorist recruitment has increased since the invasion. The quality of life has decreased since the invasion. More and more civilians are being extremists since the invasion. Did you forget about the $3 trillion worth of exotic and precious metals discovered under Afghanistan soil? Strategic position for Middle East domination? Women’s rights…hah!
