We explore some of the benefits of alternative currencies and bartering, with a focus on the Liberty Dollar.
I’m currently on a work assignment in Texas, so I made this short video in my hotel room. You’ll have to pardon the voice-overs and backdrop.

I was just wondering about alternate currencies and I looked in the right spot! Great job, Mr. Hayden, on exposing the cold hard facts on the police state.
I’m glad you found it useful! Alternative currencies are one of my FAVORITE topics and I used to write about them quite often. Those articles were never very popular, so I figured with my new(er) readers, I could make a short video to peak some interest. Hit the search bar up top and find loads of information on alternative currencies, underground economies, bartering, and even creating local economies!
Cheers,
Hayden
5:00 US Attorney General’s Office: Attempts to undermine the legitimate currency of this country are simply a unique form of domestic terrorism. While these forms of anti-government activities do not involve violence, they are every bit as insidious and represent a clear and present danger to the economic stabjility of this country.”
Jct: They can now say Ithaca Hours is a terrorist currency undermining the “legitimate” one and jail Paul Glover without trial forever! As for gold and silver based monies, they’re a joke. Who but the rich have any?
As for gold and silver based monies, they’re a joke. Who but the rich have any? If we base our chips on “not enough” metal, we won’t have a game. Don’t base our chips on what we don’t have but on what we do have, human time at labor. A timebank lets even the poorest pay their interest-free debts with cash or time of which they have plenty to spare. Ditch the shiny dirt Gold Standard of Money as collateral for loans and adopt the UNILETS Millennium Declaration C6 Time Standard of Money.
Money makes our world go around. Money is not given, but man made. We can reinvent and re-design it in a way that fits our purpose.
Current legal tender currency systems are very strong in developing high profits and building a globalised society. However, they have proved less effective in supporting regional economic development, stimulating ecological policy goals and behaviours and encouraging an active civil society. The current economic and financial crisis faced by many regions calls for new arrangements for communities to remain or become resilient.
Community Currencies (‘complementary currencies’, ‘alternative currencies’ or ‘social currencies’), are as monetary instruments that develop and implement specific social, environmental and commercial objectives. Throughout history, both in concept and in practise, a large variety of Community Currencies can be found. It can be challenging to distinguish the many programs from one other, making it hard to understand the best use, setup and impact. Many currencies are used properly, but quit often this is not the case.A key characteristic is that they all understand money as a socially and politically construction. Community Currencies offer a proven ‘toolbox’ for stimulating the creation of jobs at local level, re-localising production and consumption, supporting a vibrant SME (small and medium sized enterprise sector), building a strong and active civil society, stimulating innovation and the development of local solutions to global problems, e.g. oil-dependence.
