The United States demanded today that the U.N. expert on Palestinian human rights be fired for suggesting that 9/11 was carried out by the U.S. government and then covered up by the American media.

“In my view, Mr. [Richard] Falk’s latest commentary is so noxious that it should finally be plain to all that he should no longer continue in his position on behalf of the U.N.,” said Susan Rice, U.S. envoy to the world body. (Hayden’s Note: Well, luckily Ms. Rice is only an ambassador to the UN.  I’ll take Mr. Falk’s credentials over her’s anyday.)

Falk, a law professor from Princeton University, wrote in his blog on Jan. 11 that “awkward gaps and contradictions in the official explanations” fuel suspicions that the United States staged the terror attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.

“What may be more distressing than the apparent cover up is the eerie silence of the mainstream media, unwilling to acknowledge the well-evidenced doubts about the official version of the events: an al Qaeda operation with no foreknowledge by government officials. Is this silence a manifestation of fear or cooption, or part of an equally disturbing filter of self-censorship?” Falk wrote.

Rice condemned Falk’s “despicable and deeply offensive” remarks.

Hayden’s Note:

Despicable and deeply offensive…wow.  He merely pointed out that the Commission’s official and final report has some holes in it and leaves some questions unanswered.  He then ponders aloud as to why such an expensive, in-depth and important investigation would fail to answer some of the most basic questions about the entire event.  How is this despicable?  It would seem to be quite the opposite, ensuring that the world learns the facts surrounding that fateful day.  Why are questions about the official report met with such hostility and contempt?    There are many valid questions regarding several aspects of the report that have yet to be explained or investigated.  Like any good detective, all motives and angles must be examined to the fullest extent until proven otherwise.

We’ve never seen a video of what struck the Pentagon, even though there were dozens of surveillance cameras pointed directly at the Pentagon from nearby hotels, gas stations, traffic cameras, etc.   There is severely disturbing evidence that most of the alledged phone calls made from the airplanes via cellphone were not only physcially impossible, but technologically impossible in 2001.  It was not until years later that airliners even developed and began installing cellular repeaters on planes and even then, it’s only installed on a handful of jets to this day!  Why do police officers and engineers who witnessed the Pentagon strike offer an extremely different flight path than the official report?  Why does the collapse of the Twin Towers satisfy all 10 requirements for explosive demolition evidence and zero requirements of a collapse by fire?  How did one of the hijackers’ passport land on the sidewalk, intact, when the initial airliner impact was supposed to be so destructive and fiery as to bring the entire building down?  Why does the FBI not list Osama bin Laden as a wanted fugitive in connection with 9/11?  Why are there visible pools of molten metal dripping from the building before it came down?  Why were massive pockets of molten steel discovered under the debris weeks later as excavation teams continued to clean up?  Why was the debris from the towers immediately hauled off and sold for scrap to China?  It’s a crime scene!  Also, why have concrete dust samples taken from numerous locations around the NYC metro shortly after the collapse contain high amounts of a nano-explosive-like material which was only recently unveiled at one of our National Laboratories?

There are hundreds of questions like these that are completely unanswered… why is it soo wrong to ask these things?

Rice pointed out that the U.S. and other diplomats walked out last year when Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, in a speech to the U.N. General Assembly, insinuated that the U.S. government was behind 9/11 and called for an international panel to investigate what happened.

Israel condemns Mr. Falk in quite an arrogant manner, as well.
